We should wait (maybe even a little bit more than the typical No Recent Examples, Please! limit) because we are right in the HEAT of controversy with this. That said, once the limit is up, I wouldn't be shocked if it qualified.

Is the song itself a bad song even when detached from the controversy as much as possible? I don't think I've heard anybody admit it has a nice melody or anything so I assume that's the case, plus it's ridiculously long. It did get memed on a lot, but not in a way that makes the sound itself something worth listening to even as a joke. If someone can draft an entry that focuses on the song and not just the "why" behind it, I could see it counting.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I think it's a hard call. There's a case for So Bad, It's Good because the whole idea of responding to grooming accusations with an upbeat ukulele song is hilariously tasteless, and the song is catchy even if it isn't good. On the other hand, detached from the controversy, it's a bad song. I wrote a potential SBIH entry, and it seems to fit.
- After being accused of child grooming, Colleen Ballinger of Miranda Sings released "Toxic Gossip Train", an "apology" where she plays the victim and downplays or denies everything. It's a bad song even outside of the drama: It's hard to slog through when she spends most of its ten-minute run time talking over repetitive ukulele chords. The upbeat ukulele tune and "cute" lines like "the only thing I've ever groomed is my two Persian cats" are completely at odds with the serious subject matter. It has preachy lyrics that care more about making Ballinger look good than trying to be creative or entertaining.
Should we include the song "I'm With Her" by Le Tigre? Even ignoring the results of the 2016 Presidential election, it can be seen as a disappointment to fans of Le Tigre, and I know both Anthony Fantano and Rocked see them as downright awful songs even without the political spectrum in mind. The former saw it as the worst song of 2016 (with the last track he talked about in his video only being mentioned as a disrespectful diss toward Joey Bada$$' deceased best friend), while the latter compared it to children writing lyrics for a song.
Is Madonna's American Life qualified? Most of the comments on the music video are positive, it was a top forty hit and did reach Number One in Italy, Denmark and Switzerland.
Hide / Show RepliesI removed it. The main page says that "if you heard it on the radio, it probably isn't Horrible". A song that's a #1 hit in several countries almost certainly got at least some radio play.
This comment was a mistake on my end. Apologies for it; my actual comment regarded the song "I'm With Her" by Le Tigre above.
Edited by CrazyLuigiI know this is super, SUPER recent but does Dream’s new “Mask” song qualify to be here? The guy’s already polarizing enough but It’s apparently super bad with a horrible message of disregarding mental issues (in this case ADHD) to become some kind of clout chaser like he is to his impressionably young audience from what I’ve heard. I haven’t subjected myself to it yet and I honestly don’t wanna.
Hide / Show RepliesAs much as I despise it, something tells me his stans probably love it like crazy.

It seems like it's not so much a rant about the quality of the song as much as someone unhappy that Bill Nye "got political". The complaint about the Ken Ham debate says a lot, I think, as does the complete lack of any third-party opinions about the song.

online since 1993 | huge retrocomputing and TV nerd | lee4hmz.info (under construction) | heapershangout.comIs it too early to add Both Ways by former 1D member Liam Payne on here?
Hide / Show RepliesThe official upload doesn't even have a bad like-to-dislike ratio, so it's probably not SBIH. However, it's likely to be Overshadowed by Controversy (which it's too early to add).

Does Avril Lavigne's "Hello Kitty" belong here? Critics hated it and its music video, but the official VEVO upload has approximately 3.5 likes per dislike, and the single didn't sell that badly (#75 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, defeating two of the four singles on her Self-Titled Album). It looks more of a case of Critical Dissonance to me — critics despise it, but the general audience merely found it divisive.
Hide / Show RepliesI could've sworn it was a viral hit to an extent. You make some good points about it.
Also Johnathan Young did a decent cover of it but I don't think that's a great excuse. I guess it is rather catchy ...
It has one million likes on YouTube. As much as I hate to say it (I consider it one of the worst songs on this page, and that's saying something) it doesn't qualify.
Edited by TheAlmightyKingPrawn SP00PY month!Should we add Nicole Arbour's This is America: Women's Edit on here? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW8whgmyTNU&t=37s
I'm wondering if we should clean up the Riley Reid example. For one thing, the example includes more of the explicit sex stuff than is really needed to get the point across. I mean, I'm no prude, and I know the Darth Wiki is by definition more cynical than the main wiki, but is it really necessary to list a bunch of the off-puttingly graphic bits rather than just saying it's off-puttingly graphic? Also, I'm unsure what to do about the racial slur. Could we just say she uses the N-word and not include the actual quotes?
In addition. Is the Wheezer song qualified as well? The real only complaint is that it's unfitting for a band like Wheezer to preform it. Witch doesn't seem fair to me.
Should we add the Colleen Ballinger apology song here, "hi."? It was a YouTuber "apology" video after allegations of her grooming minors, but she had the boneheaded decision to make a 10-minute song with a ukulele about "The Toxic Gossip Train", with very little apologies and instead about elevating herself without addressing any of her actual projects. The song would otherwise be So Bad, It's Good, if it wasn't made as a response to allegations of child sexual grooming.
