The authors of Girl Genius have confirmed that Dr Chouteh is meant to be him.
Motion to change his name in the title and the url to the proper full capitalization, i.e. BRIAN BLESSED.
Can someone adequately summarize that he's actually becoming a cosmonaut? I cannot muster the volume, myself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LND56jCOfpI
This the best thing I've ever seen. It deserves to be in the main page.
Edited by Capsarc"Blessed is considered by some to be the Spear Counterpart of Tabitha St Germain."
Really?
No disrespect to Ms. St. Germain, but Brian Blessed is quite simply a legend. If he's in a movie, even in a small role, even if he's just doing the voice of a character like Clayton or Boss Nass, you will know that it's him, and he will be SPECTACULARLY LOUD. You don't even need to know what character he plays, just that he's BRIAN BLESSED! Tabitha St Germain... well, I'm a Brony, and I had to look up her wikipedia page to even know who she is. Outside of her work on Friendship Is Magic she's done almost no major roles, and most of the time on FIM she's not even SHOUTING!
So yeah, she's a great voice actress and all, but... she's no Brian Blessed.
Edited by CapsarcTHE LACONIC IS WRONG! HE IS NOT JUST THE LARGEST HAM IN ENGLAND, BUT IS THE WORLD'S! LARGEST! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!
Too bad he isn't younger, King Robert Baratheon is such a typical Brian role. I bet Martin based the character on him. Although Mark Addy was so perfect I really can't complain.
I just heard a radio interview with comedian Rory Bremner where he talked about a project he's recently done with Brian Blessed (a version of the tale of Scheherezade narrated over Rimsky-Korsakov's suite of the same name - Blessed plays the king). Bremner specialises in impersonations (mostly of politicians), so whenever he mentioned BRIAN BLESSED! he bellowed out the name BRIAN BLESSED! in the manner of BRIAN BLESSED! himself! It was like listening to the self-demonstrating article about BRIAN BLESSED!
Edited by GagHalfruntSurely Brian was born to play Volstagg the Voluminous, rather than Odin?
I de-ALLCAPS'd the page in order to make things easier to read. However, I will not stop you if you decide to change it back. You'll find the old version in the edit history of this page.
Edited by BLOODPOUCH Hide / Show RepliesI think that BRIAN BLESSED should now be a redirect to the self demonstrating article? Since it's currently a third version that will just confuse things.
Edited by MichaelNo, no no! The BRIAN BLESSED page was one of the funniest jokes on TV Tropes. Ease-of-readiness be damned, that comedy gold must be preserved for future generations!
EDIT: Oh, there's a duplicate for self-demonstrating article. Oh, well. Still, there does exist a function for manually altering text size on a web page, so I find this version to be redundant.
Edited by TurricanEither it should link to the self demonstrating article or someone needs to re-write the not caps one.
It's a funny joke about Blessed's ham with the caps, it's a fucking disjointed mess as a serious article.
Honestly, I don't think the de-allcapsed version is much more readable; the article's organization (or lack thereof) may have facilitated the joke, but it makes the article difficult to navigate. If we care about this, someone should rewrite the non-self-demonstrating version; if not, we may as well cut it, since it's not as funny.
No signature at present. (Except for these two sentences fragments.)
Can we please just switch to Title case when naming this page? I think the ALLCAPS is rather silly and unnecessary. I know it's for his booming voice, but no other actor page has ALLCAPS for their name. Can we rename it to simply Brian Blessed? Only the 2 Bs in caps everything else in lowercase? Thank you.
