Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
^ But that seems to be more about fanfic writers and the like that are only a big deal within the fan community. I meant like actual celebrities.
This is a request for Trope Finder anyway.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods Of Incremental)One of Us. Big Name Fan was renamed to Fandom VIP to avoid this confusion.
Edited by PPPSSCYou may be looking for One of Us, but that's Just for Fun and not a trope.
Fandom VIP (formerly Big Name Fan) is for when a fan becomes famous within the fandom, not when a fan is famous for something unrelated.
EDITED: Note that if you're going to put it on the Trivia page, it doesn't have to be a trope, so I think JFF is OK there.
Edited by GnomeTitan^ Is there a version for One Of Us that where it's from the subject of the adoration's perspective? I thought there was something like that, unless I'm thinking of Big Name Fan (now Fandom VIP) being used incorrectly.
Also can Ascended Fanboy be used for a celebrity getting to work on something they're a fan of?
Correct: you're thinking of Fandom VIP misuse. Ultimately "someone likes this work" is just a thing that happens.
For the second, Promoted Fanboy can apply no matter the original fame level.
What is the trope for when a celebrity is a known fan of say, a band or music group? I thought it was Big Name Fan, but reading the actual trope page makes it seem like that's a whole different ball of wax.
