I don't think we have anything explicitly written down in a policy page, but I believe that we avoid mentioning deadnames if it's at all reasonable.

Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.

I don't believe we have such a style guide and I think it would be useful (considering pronoun editing tiffs are frequent on ATT).

I was also wondering the same thing about Elliot Page, who was famous for quite some time under their former name. All references should ideally be with their preferred name and pronouns, but would it be acceptable to keep said name as a redirect for searchability?

^ His deadname is currently a redirect and I think it's a fine compromise if we'd rather not list his deadname on the creator page. I'd say we only bring up his deadname in the context of film credits if it's absolutely necessary (or even just say "played by Elliot Page pre-transition" or something).

Stage names and such add an additional complexity. I would like to suggest that where the wick is citing the name from the credits, maybe we pothole the current page name under the actor credit? I dunno...

As an example of an existing entry, this is from MCU: Citizens – New York City Midtown School of Science and Technology:

I'm cis so I'm not sure if it's the best way to do it.

I recall another ATT query where something like this was brought up regarding another creator in a similar situation (fake edit: found it). The idea they went with is to use their preferred name with a note about the name they were credited under at the time the work was released.

I'd say that's fine. The deadname is public knowledge, and "credited as [deadname]" isn't suggesting we should still use that name for them any more than "when they presented as [assigned gender]." I'm not trans (whether I'm cis is still up for debate) but this seems different than deadnaming somebody who is primarily known for their post-transition roles, which is entirely pointless.

I think it can be done the same way that Wikipedia handles voice actors that went credited as a different name when performing a work. So, for example, "Susie Q (then credited as Stevie Q)".
