Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
It could be mentioned in the description or something instead.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAlright, I'll try it out. Thanks.
Though, it could be said that the "work" it applies to is the Source Engine itself. Listing all of these games separately would probably be redundant, but excluding them would be a waste because they do have valid examples of the trope.
I don't think this is "general", it's several specific examples grouped together because, as Zuxtron said, listing them each separately would be redundant.
An argument could be made for it being general, since it can be interpreted as being about several separate games from different series at once. But they could also be seen as being connected under the Source Engine. Eh, I think I'll add it anyway, arguing that the Source Engine is the "work" the example is describing, and the games listed are just for example.
Yeah, that's a good point. It depends on what you consider the example to be about.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI think you should still be able to add it, since the Source engine is the "work". It's comparable to saying multiple games in a series feature a trope.
Keet cleanupYes, I've added the example to the draft.
In the TLP draft for Advanced Movement Techniques, I proposed an example for B-hopping; a technique that can be performed on all games that run on Valve's Source Engine. It was denied by Zuxtron because they're unsure if it violates Examples Are Not General. Here's my proposed example in full.
If it does violate the rule, then how do I go about re-writing it? Because B-hopping is too widespread across all Source Engine games to be narrowed down to just one.
