Yes. The series' current localized name is Persona.
(The Shin Megami Tensei: Persona name should be used for the first game; this is the reverse of where the pages currently are.)
Um, a) this presents way too many practical problems due to wicks, and b) it would mean that the first game would not follow the same naming convention as the following games and c) regardless of what people call it, it's still part of the SMT franchise.

Hmmm, this is a bit weird. The Japanese version has never actually used the SMT tagline - the series has always been Persona. The English version used the SMT tagline until Persona 3 and dropped it afterwards.

Honestly, I think it should remain as is. Changing it now would cause too much confusion. Besides, Persona the video game already has a few redirects like Persona or the one I typically use, Persona.
And I just found out that this is also a redirect: Persona, which is exactly what the OP wanted.

I've brought it up before; I now believe the best option is Franchise.Persona for the franchise and VideoGame.Persona 1 for the game.
