"Supposedly YMMV".

Hi, welcome to TV Tropes. You may have heard of us. We're a wiki that likes to talk about fictional media and what happens within that fictional media. Real-life is secondary, and randomly discussing bad things creators did for no other reason than to just do so is not kosher- it's against mission.

It's considered YMMV because, if we're going to be posting these things at all, it's about the result of the bad stuff- fan opinion changing, or the work itself suffering, or something like that.

I wouldn't call it "vandalism", but I would call it a complete misunderstanding of what this site is for and why we don't post those things here.

Thanks for the clarification! Just an additional question, what if I’m adding a real person (again, with proof) to the real life section of a trope? For example, Kathleen Kennedy is a competent producer but is less so as the head of Lucasfilm, so shouldn’t she be added to the Peter principle?

Just a repeat of the above...

TV Tropes isn't for complaining or troping Real Life, and especially not troping real life in order to complain. Creators and their controversies and scandals are secondary unless they've done something so bad they just can't go unmentioned— but even then, they're usually just mentioned, not judged. If you're coming here to promote a narrative of a creator's wrongdoing, you're going to find yourself at odds with the website.

The Peter Principle isn't No Real Life Examples, Please!, so you could add Kathleen Kennedy to the real life section as long as it doesn't sound biased.

The main issue is that The Peter Principle is going to sound like complaining, no matter what - there are going to be folks who think the sequels are perfection, or that the directors or writers are at fault. It's best to not use it.

Yeah, gotta say, that sounds more like an argument for making The Peter Principle NRLEP than it does for adding another example to it.

Seconded, I'm surprised it isn't already. It is one of those tropes where the topic of real life entries only ever seems to come up when someone asks if they can complain about someone on it.
