Two forms, depending on what exactly they eat:

  • Magic Eater : eats magic, with magic users and magical beings frequently being on the menu. The idea is generally that said beings either have some sort of internal reserve of magic/supernatural power or that they've absorbed residual magic by long exposure, and that's what the creature is feeding on. They might literally eat them at the same time, but Vampiric Draining of said mystical energy is just as common.
  • Phlebotinum Muncher: eats physical phlebotinum or something directly produced by it. The general idea is that this one wants to eat your magic sword rather than the mage or his spells, but there's some potential overlap with the previous(say, you're a creature with a magical Gem Heart and the monster eats Power Crystals.)
