If tropes are flexible why consider it a tomboy with a girly streak, and not a girly girl with a tomboy streak? The style and interests might lean towards the tomboy side, but the personality and behavior still leans more towards the feminine.

Is there a particular trait that determines which side of the spectrum a character falls into?

"Is there a particular trait that determines which side of the spectrum a character falls into?"

It depends on which side is dominant. If she's more tomboyish than girly (i.e. short hair, athletic physique, androgynous, masculine interests, and speech patterns, etc.) she's a Tomboy with a Girly Streak.

If she leans more toward being feminine (such as favoring skirts and dresses, wearing make-up, hair decorations, spends most of her time with other girls, etc.) , then she's a Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak.

Alright then, going into more details of her character:

In terms of physique, she is moderately fit but with a fairly curvy bottom, has medium length hair (somewhere between chin to shoulder length), almost impossible to see her without some kind of hoodie regardless of situation (though croptop and rock jackets seem to be her favorites).

Wears mostly jeans or sport pants and occasionally shorts. Finds skirts and dresses pretty to see but uncomfortable to wear, and only uses them in very rare and special occasions (and even then she is likely to wear pants under them, accompanied with a hidden hoodie, if not a makeshift one).

..

Can use any kind of underwear without giving it any mind, since she rationalizes that nobody will see them anyway. Might use a hairpin, changes clothes depending on occasion but keeps a primarily black and white color scheme (and a hoodie). Is for the most part obviously a girl, but due to her choice of clothing and certain facial expressions, she may at times appear androgynous enough to pass off as an uke.

..

She tends to go with a coy, girlish flirt pose when approaching people, is very timid when dealing with strangers, and especially fidgety if she finds them cool (particularly likes musclebound hero types). Treats almost anything she touches with a whimsical tenderness, and really is fond of petting and cuddling others, but is self-aware enough that she will keep her distance unless you let her (in which case, she prob will never let you go). Likes rock, goes with a funky beat, but can grow emotional with the melancholic melody of violins.

...

Is meek at heart, but is more than willing to show her grit when push comes to shove. Although mostly softspoken with feminine speech patterns, will usually shift to a more snarky and blunt persona when she feels confident, sometimes mixing it up with a "homie/bro" talk when trying to be particularly upbeat (but still thinking and referring herself as a maiden).

..

Can appreciate cute and frilly things, but her true passion lies on things that exudes power and raw tenacity (anything to do with sports, powerful machinery and determination). Although soft and tender with her movements in general day to day moments, she can be quite vigorous and hard handed when it comes to challenges, and has a very competitive spirit.

Tends to geek over famous athletes, and is as likely to fangirl over giant and/or intimidating looking mechas (although not as knowledgeable about the subject). Would give a bad ass looking killing machine (including the none literal, living kind) the same bubbly affection as a cute fluffy puppy if it's "sugoi" enough.

..

She is very cheeky towards people she is close to, and can show the warmth and care of an affectionate mother figure when trying to comfort someone, or when simply feeling very cozy. But can become pretty coldhearted and analytical when dead serious, which can make her appear borderline sociopathic when coupled with her social awkwardness and snark.

..

So which side seems more dominant? Are there other tropes that'd describe her better than tomboy/girly girl with a streak?

(ps, sorry for the long text, just had lots of things in mind that I'd thought would be important)

Definitely Tomboy with a Girly Streak: leans heavily to the "dammit I tore my jeans" side of things, while still having a soft side and at least an academic appreciation for "girly stuff".

Also shows some Fluffy Tamer potential, depending on where the story goes. Depending on her age and social circle, she may find herself as One of the Boys or The Lad-ette.

Yeah, thinking about it, I guess she is more of a tomboy. But, although she can be one of the boys to some extent, she is more of the "odd man out" variety, since her feminine behaviors tends to clash with the guys attitude (for the lack of a better word).

..

Like, she may share the passion for sports and fights, but if you asked her what she loves about them, her timid yet spirited demeanor, coupled with her infatuation of the male body and her expressfully tender body language, could make even the most brutal MMA fights sound steamy and gay (despite usually not intending to).

While although she also likes the intimidating and bad ass, and will call it as such... She will express them as if she is saying "fluffy" or "cute", only being true to the words' spirit when she is in competitive/serious mode.

Even her "bro/homie" talk, comes less off as a dude from the hood talking, and more like a cheeky parent trying to be hip with the kids... Even though she isn't older than any of them (is 17 in a group mostly consisting of 18-19 year olds).

..

She is a cheerful gal with a inner deadpan snark hidden in her “kokoro”, but she is so bashful with everything she does, that despite having a bubbly mind and expressful gestures, she ends up not saying much except a handful of sentences, ones that usually come off either as timid but spirited, or affectionately cheeky (if not insensitive at times).

She got friends of both genders, but while she shares more interests with the guys, her wavelength is closer to the girls. So she tends to act as a mediator between the two groups, without completely fitting in with either but still hanging out with both.

..

Haven't really decided if there will be actual supernatural elements in the setting, but most of her "Fluffy Tamer" traits will be directed towards in-universe fiction and wild animals (and to some extent, other people).
