Genre Turning Point if it actually does end up changing the genre's direction, but that's one you can't determine until a while down the road.
Genre Throwback for what they're doing in the short term, going back to the roots of the genre.

I see, so it'd probably be Genre Throwback for the hypothetical example? Revisiting the Roots was what I wrongly thought, so thank you for correcting me! ;)
Is there a trope for where a type of show suddenly has a change in pace after a long time, for example:
Hypothetical example, no actual show.
Is there such a trope for this about genres?
