The TVTropes Trope Finder is where you can come to ask questions like "Do we have this one?" and "What's the trope about...?" Trying to rediscover a long lost show or other medium but need a little help? Head to Media Finder and try your luck there. Want to propose a new trope? You should be over at You Know, That Thing Where.
You know, I think you might have a How Did We Miss This One? here.
Data does it with a tricorder in Star Trek: Generations after he gets his Emotion Chip and discovers humor.
Might consider expanding it to something like "Improvised Puppet" to cover corner-cases like using something that Kind of Looks Like A Face as a stick-puppet.
Edited by Scorpion451I'm not sure I agree with that. I think it takes more than just a mouth (and not even a realistic mouth) to get the status of "puppet."
Tropes Are Flexible, as is the definition of puppet, which essentially boils down to "an object that is being used as a puppet". (you don't even really need the object.)
Edited by Scorpion451Used with a dental model of teeth all over the place, but since it is a mouth I'm not sure if it's an example of this trope.
Still an improvised puppet.
