Personally, I think the line is fuzzy enough between TP Bs and Graphic Novels, and all that entails (ET: Is Watchman a GN or TPB) to make it an unnecessary distinction

Oh hi. Welcome to my page. Uh, I am a nice polite ND Canadian, and not a rabbit who has stolen a laptop I swear. Did you bring any carrots?

When I talk about graphic novels, I mean various illustrated novels like say, the The Baby-Sitters Club series, Guts, and Be Prepared - books that are basically stand alone novels (or tied together series) that mostly differ from text novels in that they're illustrated. A lot of them are in the middle-grade lit category nowadays and could be full text but are instead illustrated. Persepolis also is a graphic novel, as is Maus.

I don't know what TPBs are.

The graphic novel concept is one that's restricted to the English language. Other languages usually don't make a distinction between "Comics" and "Graphic Novels", they use the same words for it. So such a sub-category would just be needlessly confusing. (Heck, the "Comic Books" and "Comic Strips" distinction is already stretching things out IMHO.)

Graphic novels go in "Comic Books". Illustrated books (including children's books) go in "Literature". Simple as that.

Then if it's not needed I'll close the query. Thank you.
