I don't see any reason for Beware the Silly Ones to be a villain trope and the description, while mostly covering villains, does not say it's a villain-only trope.
I think any references to "villain" or "hero" in the Playing With page ought to be removed.
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundI don’t really think that’s even what ”inverted” is supposed to mean. Even a villain trope isn’t inverted if it’s applied to a hero.
^ I mean, it might be on occasion, but not on this occasion.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAgreed. It depends, I think, on what is the essence of the trope - is it what somebody does, or who is doing it? In this case, I think it’s the former, so inverting the trope would mean invering the action, not the agent.
Bumping this thread 'coz it moved to 2nd page
Beware the Silly Ones' one Inverted entry specifies a hero seeming silly while being competent (to complement the straight example of a villain being one), even though the trope is not inherently a villainous one.
I'd like to ask for a second opinion on whether it can be moved to the Straight one, or just remove the reference to hero/villain altogether.
