Your idea is better, though since the season will have different release dates in different countries (neither even have a US release yet), maybe it's better to just call them the first and second revival seasons rather than go by year.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

Academic Year 2023 started (here, anyway) on October 2022. You can already buy Model 2024 cars. Etc.

There's nothing wrong with calling the 2023-2024 season of series X "X (2024)", in my opinion.

The season seems to be released as a binge drop in most countries, so it doesn't really have that excuse, and that's also not the way we refer to series by year here.

I feel like Part 1/Part 2 is the best of a bad group of options.

I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.

Yyyeah, if it's released all at once "part 1" and "part 2" makes the most sense.

Or maybe season and year instead of just the year? "(Winter 2023)" for the new season and... "([Whenever] 2023)" for the first? (Sorry, I'm not clear on that release date.)

Just "(2024)" is probably not ideal, as there's the opportunity for another mess if an actual 2024 season is made.

I'm sure eventually a naming distinction between them will emerge after it comes out. but for now part 1 and 2 seems the least bad choice.

Also, since the OP mentioned the other troper bringing up the Total Drama wiki: the longtime policy of TV Tropes is what other wikis do is their own business and has no bearing on our own editorial decisions.

It has now been over a day and everyone here seems to agree that calling the seasons Total Drama Island (2023) Part 1 and Total Drama Island (2023) Part 2 is the best way to differentiate them, at least for now. I’ll now lock this thread and edit the rest of the relevant pages so that they use those names.
