Save the Villain. We don't seem to have Rescue Friendship as the platonic sister of Rescue Romance.

Could be situation be construed as I Owe You My Life?
The wheelchair-bound villain wants the hero dead and hunts him because the hero was the one who crippled him. The hero is a Nice Guy and a Wide-Eyed Idealist who thinks the villain is just pretending to be a bad guy. After both of them end up underwater, the hero saves the villain from drowning. The villain becomes the hero's friend and pulls a bit of Heel–Face Turn.
