Harsher in Hindsight You may be thinking of "Funny Aneurysm" Moment , but that’s been merged.

Remember that Young Sheldon has a historical setting, taking place in Sheldon's childhood. Did "monkeypox" even exist then, or was it merely a funny sounding name for a disease? I'd say a weird conicidence...

@CSS 1 Yeah, it must've been the aneurysm one I was thinking about. Thank you very much. I thought Harsher in Hindsight had some kind of waiting period, that normally it can't be for something that aired for the first time just now...

@PCD Yes, monkeypox existed back then and I believe there are occasional references to it in TV shows from that time period (though Sheldon would probably know about it from a medical textbook, because he's a hypochondriac). However, the oldest reference I can think of at the moment was in an episode of Scrubs, in which Dr. Cox says that to get a pox like that, you have to have sex with the animal it's named after.

Hilarious in Hindsight is also a trope. The question is whether it applies to events taking place during the initial airing of the show. I guess it's best to wait a few days to see how this situation goes before adding it to the trivia page for the episode.

Agreed. Hopefully the CDC, able to operate without their hands tied behind their backs, will be able to contain the monkeypox outbreak and the rest of us can just forget about it...
