Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Generally you split pages when the size grows too large, and from a brief run-through of the pages, the size seems about right. As long as the number of tropes is sufficiently large enough, there really isn't a limit on the amount of sub pages.
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meYes. I can't even find a work page with 8 or more trope-list subpages.
The example list clocks at 310k bytes, if it needed a split, it should have been no more than in the middle.
Edited by Amonimus TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanup10 feels like overkill, especially when the work isn't ongoing. How about Tropes A-C, D-I, J-P, Q-Z? (By my estimate, a pretty even split into four.)
I'd still say two subpages should be enough. It's a comic strip with a 10 year run that ended a while ago. Even if it has many tropes, going above two seems like overkill.
You can also use this thread in the future, if the page does get too long.

Hi everyone. Sorry about the split. I did it because there was a "page is getting too long" warning message, and I decided if no one else was going to, then I would.
If I had known about that forum thread, I would've asked about it there.
^ It's fine. The split was for good reason.
I saw Mr Media Guy 2 split the tropes for Calvin and Hobbes into pages using the same margins as the folders that were on the page previously... meaning that there are now no fewer than ten pages for its tropes. This seems like overkill, should it be scaled back?
