Sounds interesting. I do not think this exists, but sounds like a graphic novel Amityville Horror book. What type of things do the family do? Do they do anything to each other?

can't remember the exact details but the emotions boiled over around the stain into violence and craziness, not directly so there was proof of supernatural goings on

Might be a stupid question, but to understand this better. I know you said violence and craziness, but did the family try to kill each other or others outside the house (besides maybe neighbors, friends, etc.)? I might ask this on Reedit, because it sounds cool, scary yet cool.

The bare bones description sounds a bit like Rivers of London: Black Mould.

I should have known that one! I am familiar with Rivers of London. In it, a mold makes people encounter their worst fears. It features a haunted ice cream van as well.

All I can think of is The Scarlet Circle by Junji Ito.

A comic adaptation of (The title is an ink blot) by Gahan Wilson, maybe?

No "Bowser's Fury" questions please. I haven't played it yet.

After a bit of searching, I think it might be Pixu: The Mark of Evil by Gabriel Bá, Becky Cloonan, Vasilis Lolos, and Fábio Moon. It's a b&w book and was released by Dark Horse Comics in 2009.

Here is the summary from the Dark Horse website:

"This gripping tale of urban horror follows the lives of five lonely tenants — strangers — whose lives become intertwined when they discover a dark mark scrawled on the walls of their building. The horror sprouts quite innocently from a small seed and finds life as something otherworldly, damaged, full of love, hate, fear, and power. As the walls come alive, everyone is slowly driven mad — defenseless against the evil in the building, stripped of free will, leaving only confusion, chaos, and eventual death."
