For me, Text Encoding has been set to 'Western' instead of 'Unicode'. Switching it back on my browser fixes it on the page until I refresh. Edit: I had just updated to Firefox v.89, not sure if that's part of the problem. Possibly it's not detecting the correct Text Encoding.
Edited by helotHow do you set it to Unicode? I've never done that so I don't know how.
In Firefox, on your Menu Toolbar go to View -> Text Encoding. If it's greyed out, there's nothing to choose, ie. it's already correct. Otherwise you should see options such as 'Automatic', 'Unicode', 'Western' etc.
If Western is selected, choose Automatic or Unicode instead. If you refresh the page, it will revert to Western, so this is strictly a temporary fix.
I had the same issue and switching from Western to Automatic helps temporarily.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I experienced it on iOS. Please, fix it.
We updated some packages on the server and it seemed to break the encoding of our library the loads the icons on the site. We rolled back the update and will dig in more tomorrow to figure out what is happening.
I experienced this bug yesterday, but it appears to be resolved.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes. Why are the forum buttons covered in blue?
Feels good, don't it?There's already a query about that here.
THE GOLDEN AGE WILL RETURN AGAIN!
Today, members of this ATT query noticed that certain icons and displays such as the links on the blue banner with "Follow TV Tropes", the folder icon, the left and right buttons in the forums, the ATT/Bugs buttons, and many more appear as a bizarre mess of characters instead of their proper icons. What happened to cause this odd glitch? Some have noted that this glitch does not appear on certain formats, so this could be a case-by-case issue. Anyway, this strange occurrence has to be fixed.
