Your mama may have had eyes in the back of her head, but our admin team just can't see everything at once. It takes a village to make sure TVTropes is running the way it should, so when it comes to spotting tech snafus, dreaming up a better digital mousetrap, or just diagnosing plain old asshattery, the quicker you let us know something's up, the quicker we can address it. See a bug? Point to it and we'll squash it. Have idea for a new feature? Post in the Tech Wishlist.
NOTE: Do not post duplicate bug queries, please check existing queries to see if your issue has already been reported and then comment on it.
It also has the issue of breaking URLs that use special characters.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Because the website internally saves text in ASCII instead of UNICODE and I don't know why would it still do that in this day and age.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIs this a fix that needs to be added to the Editing Improvements thread?
I also noticed sometimes when editing my own comments that some stuff turns into gibberish as well. Same issue?

Edited by kory Now monitoring Wishlist and Bugs- Some of the non-English home pages, e.g.
- Es.Home Page (Spanish)
- Gr.Home Page (Greek)
- Ru.Zaglavnaya Stranitsa (Russian)
- Chinese Literature
- Emojis
When editing a page, a ton of characters turn into their HTML equivalent, such as "é" becoming "é". This happens for accentuated characters, diacritical characetrs, cyrilic characters, kanji characters, etc.
This is really bothersome on pages such as the ones relating to the Pokémon franchise, since it constantly butchers the name, and an absolute nightmare on foreign-language pages that use a lot of diacritics, which become absolute gibberish.
The issue has been present for years now, but the previous ticket was closed without anything actually being done about it. There is a script on the forum that "fixes" the issue, but wiki newcomers just won't know about it and tend to get discouraged immediately from editing diacritic-heavy pages.
