One idea I've had is a prince from a vassal state of the resident Evil Empire having to do his overlord's bidding until he can amass enough power and influence to make a bid for independence.
On the subject of dynamic music, there is one song in Fire Emblem: Three Houses where I prefer the "Rain" version to the "Thunder," and that's "Tearing Through Heaven." I usually prefer the "Thunder" version of a song, but not for "Tearing Through Heaven."

I discussed this on the Three Houses forums, but since most people don't think Edelgard's sincere about her well intentioned motives or downplay her some of her more heroic actions, my idea is to go all out and next time we have an imperially inclined Lord, make them more like King Ashnard and as brutal and violent as possible.
Make it like the demon path from Soul Nomad. My idea is a prince/princess who is the heir apparent to the Imperial throne, but prefers the battlefield and is quite brutal in imperial politics.
Like most of the fanbase think Edelgard is solely motivated by conquest so let's make a lord who is exactly that plus an enjoyment for battle and death.
Look how much people enjoyed Ashnard in Heroes.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Isn’t that basically Donkey Kong but as a ruler?
It's been 3000 years…No, Ashnard has a coherent plan and is consistent with his ideals.
Donkey Kong is a split personality who just likes killing.
Ashnard likes killing but he also has vision.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I like Edelgard a lot because she's a revolutionary. Fire Emblem protagonists are almost universally about maintaining a status quo; Edelgard's all about changing hers. The imperial trappings hardly matter.
Having a Villain Protagonist is not something I figure intsys would do. I mean look how Fates handled it when you where on the side of the warmongering empire trying to conquer the poor peaceful land.
Bleye knows Sabers.I see Edelgard as a revolutionary others would view her as a conqueror.
That's why i say IS should experiment more and let us play as an outright villain.
As for conquest, oh dear.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. They attempted a Camus route where the Camus was the oldest abused sibling and we're hpelessly naive taking advice form another abuse victim.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Give us the Gharnef route next time IS.
Maybe a magically inclined Lord would be interesting.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Honestly, the only thing I would like IS to do with the MC in the next (original) game is to make them a lone protagonist. Both Fates and Three Houses, I'd argue, were pretty ambitious attempts at multiple campaigns with competing philosophies and map design (well, in Fates anyway) but both kinda suffered because of the need to establish multiple routesnote , so it would be a nice change of pace.
Also, I think it's time for the protagonist to be a lord that isn't a self-insert Heroic Mime again. It's been three games, it's time.
It's been 3000 years…I don't think that's gonna happen because the waifu elements are too popular to drop avatars.
Where there's life, there's hope.Honestly, I think the best avatars were probably Mark and Byleth. Mark doesn't hijack the plot or characterization but is still fairly effective as player-insert, while Byleth has some degree of player-dependent characterization (the ghost stuff, for instance) and still doesn't majorly hijack a plot (except arguably in the Black Eagles, but that's spoiler talk).
The "Avatar as Supporting Protagonist" setup works really well. Robin's still great, since remember their importance in the plot's final stretch is supposed to be a surprise.
Byleth would work better if they weren't a Heroic Mime.
Bleye knows Sabers. When has this series been consumed by Waifus and Husbandos?
Sure Awakening technically made it more prevalent but i say Fates made it consuming.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. As soon as they got a decent artist for the series.
As a slightly more serious answer, probably earlier than you think.
Robin and Corrin were both fully-fleshed out characters and not particularly avatars outside of customization and increased romance options. Corrin as a set character would not solve any of Fates's problems.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.I wouldn't mind a return to something similar to pre-Ch.21 Robin, where the avatar is just a viewpoint character accompanying the main lord(s) on their journey instead of the focus character themself.
The Ishmael to their Ahab.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! As long as we don't have to save them from crazed plant zombie girls.
As to the waifubando consumption thing, I want to say a lot of fandoms end up that way from the start. Characters in fiction tend to be attractive in more ways than one, which typically brings out those tendencies in people.

Like i said my guest thought Three Houses was a dating simulator.
Disgusting.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Sounds like we need a Taro Yoko up in here.
He'll make things as degenerate as it fits, and hes a lot less cynical these days.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.I want to say Lyn leaned pretty hard into that kind of marketing.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. The overseas three games with playable avatars are the three best selling games in the franchise, not counting Heroes.
Where there's life, there's hope.
I can take either way of doing it, personally. They both have their ups and downs.
Anyway, I've been thinking about how Edelgard is often compared to Lelouch (hell, I've done it myself), and it got me thinking...what if the next Lord character was actually a Lelouch-like character? Basically what Conquest!Corrin should have been, have a character from The Empire leading a rebellion against their homeland. Hell, if you wanted you could go all the way and keep their identity secret by having them wear a mask - it might even allow them to show up in pre-rendered cutscenes while still allowing for character customization.
What do you guys think?
Oh God! Natural light!
