Basically, RNG is a fickle thing.

Your Ryoma isn't religious enough. Mine makes sure to make sacrifices to the Random Number God and roll out his d20s before battle.

The RNG only accepts three things as fitting sacrifices: your time, your patience, and your sanity.

Ryoma's the only prepromote I haven't benched by the way.

RNG gave my Linde 0 stat raises twice yesterday I had to reset twice.

RNG giveth, RNG taketh

I could only complete Birthright's Invasion 3 by placing paired-up Ryoma alone at the bottom and have him effortlessly kill all twelve enemies by himself. Meanwhile my other 8 units had to struggle like hell to defeat the ten enemies who weren't at the bottom before reinforcements could arrive.

Beat Camilla's chapter thinks to a combination of Kaden and Selkie being amazing dodge- and mage-tanks, creatively hiding weaker units in the middle passages, and one spectacular 5% crit from Hinoka on the purple-haired beauty queen herself.

Reinforcements still spawning after the boss goes down should DIAF.

Okay I finished Chapter 9 of New Mystery and... well Kris offered himself as a way to Hold the Line moment. Jagen recommends it with "Of all people, you know Kris can do it." And he survived with all survivors in tact.

Fine. +1 Sue Point. The score's now 5.

However, there's another stat-tracking screen afterwards. This time on Luck. Luckily my Kris' Luck is horrid, so Marth comments as if Kris is being hated by the Goddess of Fortune.

Only this time I won't add up for stat-track point, because by nature, it's just depending on luck and RNG even in-story. I can't blame that.

The enemies on Hans' chapter. I can't even. How do you survive the first turn, even?

EDIT REDUX: Never mind, got it. You're supposed to turtle from the initial wave in the bottom section, then charge.

Setting Lunatic+ aside for a while to do blind Hard Shadows of Valentia.

I remember getting bodied by Hans' chapter when I first did Birthright. It's a very noticeable Difficulty Spike.

Hilariously, after enduring his gauntlet, Hans himself was a cakewalk. 0% hit on Corinne with the Noble Yato. That was for Gunter and Lilith, assclown.

Hans looks like a thumb.

I made it a priority to have Corrin take down Hans in my Birthright and Conquest run, and even made Miiverse posts on them.

I forget what happened in Revelations. Probably nothing interesting, seeings as I had to keep resetting thanks to the BS "You have to replay this chapter again if you reset in the next one" stuff.

I hated the no save between chapters on the last couple chapters, especially on Conquest. It's a huge amount of Fake Difficulty, making you redo the entirety of the first map just because you screwed up on the second. Not a convention I want them to keep in the future, for sure.

I'm picking up BR again after having put it down for months.

I've been playing Classic/Normal/No Grinding and I've come to a point where I either have to let Kaze die or grind supports with Corrin to avoid that.

I seriously regret playing on Normal. I just find the game pretty unengaging at this difficulty.

I just fell victim to the "you have to reset two chapters" thing, too, on the endgame. Bah.

It's not that bad in BR because Endgame lasted for one turn.

How'd you pull that off?

Scarlet kills General guarding Garon with Hammer. Ryoma, Corrin, Takumi takes a crap ton of stat boosts (mostly Strength, Skill, and Speed) and hop on fliers/Paladins. All attack Garon. Azura hops on the fourth flier, Sing to Corrin, attack again. Win.

Alternatively, use Entrap on Garon. If you succeed, gang up on him.

That Berserker in the center of the map in "King Garon" is one of the most obnoxious enemies I've ever encountered. Brave Axe, Vengeance, Counter, and Swordbreaker.

Ryoma solves that problem.

I think I may have relied on the Princes and Corinne too much; I've been having a lot of trouble with the enemies in these last few chapters.

Ryoma and Corrin are the only important units in the lategame. The rest exist to support them.
