Is there supposed to be a way to get a proper view of pictures that Danbouru shrinks down like that? Because I told my noscript to allow the whole site and I still can't find one. Using the "scale everything on the page up" trick (control+mousewheel) leaves it too low-resolution to see anything, view image leaves it the same size and I can't zoom in, and clicking on it just toggles translations. What's the trick?

No idea. I can't even get the image to display, and have to go to the image file itself if I want to see it.

On the left side of the page down under the Statistic category is the Size stat, next to the pic's dimensions. Those dimensions are a bluelink, but if you click it the image gets embiggened. At least it does for Firefox. Or at least it does for however I've got Firefox set up.

if you get a free account it automatically resizes it.

I don't see any reason not to get one at least.

So, Hina, huh? I'm not exactly sure how shinto-esque gods work but would Hina be subservient to Kanako? She is the goddess of the whole mountain.

I think she's more likely to be subservient to Suwako than to Kanako, but we're given no evidence that she is.

Yeah Suwako only subjugated the curse-gods of her native kingdom. She's really got no authority over Genokyo's native gods. Hina seems to be free to do whatever she wants, and I doubt many people would object to what she does.

My ability to create a Gensokyoan pantheon fails again. Kanako, you screw and fight far too infrequently to be in a Zeus position.

Theoretically Hina should be subservient to Kanako, as she's the head god of the mountain. Whether or not she actually is depends on who's writing; there's nothing that actually says whether Kanako's position gives her any special powers.

Kanako's a conqueror. I don't think she's the type to be satisfied with a mere title. Either submit to her or be crushed, etc etc.

Although personally she feels more like a shrewd businesswoman.

Does Kanako really have that much authority over the native gods, though? She just kinda showed up one day and delcared herself the goddess of the mountain. And then she got befreinded hard for her efforts.

Too bad that Hina's discussion isn't proving to be as fruitful as Murasa's. Might be time to start thinking about the next character to deal with.

I won't be there for the weekend, by the way, and I'll have little time tomorrow, so for at least one of the next two characters, someone should be prepared to do the launcher. Which means that we should, if possble, not pick someone I desperately want to do the thing for.

Hey, it is a little fruitful. We're discussing the possible divine hierarchy and whether or not Hina has to listen to Kanako or Suwako and stuff.

^^^ As I said, I don't think she'd be satisfied not having authority. She doesn't have authority by nature, but she's the kind of person who takes authority when she can. They aren't necessarily loyal to her or supernaturally bound to her, but they'd probably listen to her just to avoid the consequences.

I mean, you know, we have a lot of different Gods and stuff and Kanako/Suwako just got there. I get the feeling they're dinking around before they do any hardcore god conquering.

Like, Hisouten level dinking.

Does Hina have any popular pairings? I can't seem to really find much...

Only Nitori (adjacent stages) and Medicine (doll association).

Not that I've actually looked for much.

I've seen Suwako x Hina for whatever reason.

Nitori is easily her most popular ship, but Nitori has Marisa and Momiji as far more popular ships. Medi is paired with her occasionally, but anything involving Medi is going to be extremely rare. So, no real popular ships.

I've seen her together with Parsee here and there. After all, they're both Stage 2-bosses, specialize in more abstract powers (jealousy and misfortune) and...the games are adjacent.

And they share a stage in Double Spoiler.

There might be something in that.

But isn't Parsee always bound to the bridge which is why she got her powers of jealousy?

Gensokyo is not nearly as good of a place to live as it appears to be.

It's a nice place to visit, but my tech-oriented self would prefer to live in the outside world, and visit for holidays only.
