They all seem the same to me.

Maybe the writers learned something?

just wondering, why do people say that Bridgette had a Character Derailment in action?

Bridgette mostly got complaints for the whole "constantly making out" joke in the first couple of episodes. I don't know if that's exactly fair, given that her character was more or less normal when she wasn't doing it. (And because I've known couples like that.)

I thought Courtney and Trent were pretty much the inarguable cases, at least to the extent that most people acknowledge them as the big cases. Both Courtney's bitchiness and her competence were inflated so the writers could stick her with the villain role. I don't think the derailment was as rampant across the characters as some suggest, but giving one of the worst cases so much screentime made it harder to shrug off.

This was also the point where I felt that Duncan and Owen were getting overused. It's pretty much inevitable from the format of the show that some characters will get more exposure within a single season, but having those two get as far as they did in both seasons annoyed me. Duncan in particular was handled poorly for me in a number of ways: fewer sympathetic moments, plots with Courtney and Harold that were just rehashes of what happened in the first season, said plots never going much of anywhere, cases of cheating/lying breaking his old "straight with people" excuse, using Plot Armor to dodge repeated eliminations, etc.

Also, I felt the finale was poorly handled, mostly because of how they handled the 'multiple endings' issue. The winner felt really arbitrary to me because the episodes didn't differ until the exact point where the winner was announced. By contrast, the first season's two endings had some buildup, so it seemed more like someone was actually accomplishing something when they won.

I also thought the reward challenges were bad for pacing, but in the absence of other issues, they might not have bothered me as much. I suspect those will be back next season, given the still-reduced cast size, unless they're planning on doing two-parters or ten returns ("We have a special announcement for this merge. All eliminated contestants are coming back, rendering the entire previous competition a total waste of time!") or something.

By the way, I'm not trying to say that you shouldn't like it, Robbie. I just felt like defending my own position of disliking it, with lots of words.

I'm no big fan of the show, but I thought both series were pretty much OK. My favorite character is Izzy.

I should enjoy World Tour, hopefully.

Is Canada getting the series first? I'm not really on top of that, but I thought the point of the huge delay last season was to make sure that the US saw it at the same time, thus hopefully improving ratings. It stops people from watching online or spoiling results to people who don't have it available.

I watched it, anyway. Too early to tell about the season, but I thought it was pretty good. I mean, I didn't much care for "Monster Cash", and I liked this, for what it's worth. The song was so-so, but short enough that it didn't overstay its welcome for me. Noah and Duncan's parts amused me.

I'm surprised the writers remembered that Owen is afraid of flying. Of course, they didn't remember that Izzy is too, but I suppose Izzy might not either.

Are we going to have a policy on spoilers? I've always been bothered on other forums by the fact that I can't discuss aired episodes without also being subjected to leaked material.

Dang, someone just posted a big list of probable spoilers for the season. I guess I need to do my best to retreat from the various discussions and pages regarding the season; all it takes is one troll or dumb kid posting a bunch of unmarked spoilers. Other people might want to be wary as well, if you care about that kind of thing.

Fortunately, I only saw one elimination, and it was the person I thought was going to be out for that episode anyway.

Saw the first episode of TDWT. Not bad.smile

P.S. Anyone notice that when Sierra showed up, that some crazy music played? Do you think that will be her theme music anytime she does something really wild.

danger, this trailer may be low quality but it still has a lot of spoilers, and I just have one thing to say about it.

Is Sierra really that replusive?, oh wait, she's a satire of Cody's legion of Fangirls, she's supposed to be replusive

Thought stemming from trailer spoilers: On the one hand, I want Duncan to come back soon because he can't get eliminated for real until he does. On the other, I think the Team Amazon dynamic is potentially interesting, and I don't want it getting too bogged down by the love triangle. Gah.

I wonder if I'm the only person who wants Chris to ring the bell when someone gets eliminated and have all the characters sing the Goodbye song. Somehow, I don't think that's a common dual fandom.

I like the part wher Tyler goes "Not even a scratch", then is immediately fallen on by Cody! Seriously though, Cody? Vomiting? Was kissing Sierra really that bad?

So, howza'bout that season four cast? Will we see the S1-3 characters at all next season?

In any case, I've already developed a likeness for Short-Haired Girl With Hand In Pocket and Seth Rogen.
