Ran into Pale Rider in Grus on my second Enemy Search.

Fiend hunting sure is easy!

I'll be honest here: If there's anyone I want to have Riot Gun in Strange Journey Redux, it's Demonee-Ho.

I don't know what it is that compels my enemies to almost exclusively use their basic attacks on my Girimekhala but it sure is convenient.

Zelenin's collar is so popped that Chads everywhere weep at the sight of its beauty.

I really love the downfall of Zelenin and Jiminez. They were starting to warm up to each other, not really being friends but learning to respect one another to the point where Jiminez was learning to take the mission seriously while Zelenin playfully ribbed Jiminez in Eridanus, and that flies out the window when they take on their new forms.

"Brainwashing is wrong, Zelenin!" - Jiminez, a few hours before he brainwashes the crew.

Replaced my ability to instantly kill enemies by turning them to stone with the ability to instantly kill them with one shot. Spess Mehreen is not one for wasting time.

So, you guys remember when I was Fiend hunting on law? How frustrated I got over the complete lack of progress while doing it?

Well, let’s do the FUCKING time warp again, because whoever decided on a 1/256 encounter rate needs all the nukes dropped on his groin.

All of Them.

Why are you doing this to yourself?

You have people who care about you.

Rob, at this point. Hunting the Fiends just isn't worth it. It would be much better if you continue with the game normally.

Rob, here's a suggestion to make Fiend-hunting slightly less tedious: do it while watching a movie or a long YouTube video. That's what I do whenever I go Fiend-hunting.

Also, feel happy that the Fiends in IV have a 100% drop rate for their goodies instead of the 1/256 drop rate in Shin Megami Tensei I.

Huh, the "Manifold" thing that allows access to different dimensions is based on a real concept.

Now that I think about it, SMTIV bringing back the 1/256 chance of finding the Fiends in order to reference SMTI and II is basically as apt a metaphor for that game as possible.

Got the Odin Ring so now I basically get a free Headshot every random encounter.

I keep misreading Genma Bugle as Genma Bulge.

Is it just me or are the Fiends completely not worth the effort in Strange Journey, other than for acquiring their Forma and Source? There's never any clear stat or moveset advantage over their peer demons.

Eh, in Redux I was able to turn Trumpeter into a buff/debuff specialist a la the Persona games.

So far I've only used White and Red Rider and they just have lackluster stats. Even with Fire Amp Red Rider's Maragidyne hits for Peanuts while the similarly Elec Amp'd Titania wrecks shop with Maziodyne.

I've come up with a clever plan to get Masakado while still getting the Neutral ending. I'll side with the demons to kill Jack's Squad, hopefully shifting my Alignment to Chaos, and then beat Bishamonten to unlock his fusion which is necessary for Masakado. I'll probably be in the Chaos path until the endgame with Gore's questionnaire.

Alright I'm Chaos-aligned and I get the App to unlock the gate to the last two Devas somewhere in Grus. As long as I don't go too deep into Chaos I should be golden.

[up] There's actually a password generator for Redux on GameFAQS and using it, I got a Masakados with very high stats and the skills I wanted. Super expensive sure, but it was Worth It to me.

Sure you can do that, if you're a filthy cheater.

I passworded a Sleipnir because no way was I wasting the time to fuse demons for one quest.

Man, Grus is a really hard dungeon with all these teleporters.

You could even say it's

Grusome

Such a tragedy they better protected the Password system to make it impossible to use enemy only demons.

Ah well. Mem Alephs ingame data also has her alignment as Chaos now too.

When I played the game I ended up having to password a Demonee-ho in order to beat Mem Aleph. It is my secret shame. Except not really because Demonee-ho rules.

@Badguy: Well, what did you expect? The Final Boss of the alignment plus endings and the new Bonus Bosses can and will kick your ass. Also, the filth thing is kinda funny because having beaten SMT IV on Neutral I wear Flith like a badge of Pride. A Tokyo Cheater, if you will.

[up] Same here for original Strange Journey.

Filth is just a catch all term so Merkabah can enjoy the smell of its divine farts.

Especially considering the people of Mikado are genetically part demon and the Filth are the ones who carry the genes of Tokyo citizens.

Still amuses me people act like Merkabah was nicer in IV than it actually was especially when it insulted Flynn for being born a Casualry on Neutral.

I admit, that's very tempting. If I understand correctly, none of the demons but Red Rider are alignment locked right?

I still want them though. It's just so hard to resist. Especially since all I got to do is run around in one spot.

I think I've forgotten the DLC trick: You just enter a DLC mission and then leave while standing in the spot they're supposed to appear in right? Or do you need to move around again when you come back?

Just got Zelenin converted on my end too. Poor thing - biggest victim in the entire game if you ask me, apart from perhaps Bugaboo.
