Are you as confused as I was when I first beat the game?
Kill all math nerdsMore of "very angry".
Joshua is Jesus! Hanekoma is God and Satan! Imagination comes from the souls of the dead! I NEED SCISSORS 61!

Kill all math nerdsJesus and a horribly broken moral.
But he was working for everyones benefit. Sort of. Kind of. I mean in theory he was...
Kill all math nerdsMy endgame setup for this latest run... what was it? –goes to check–
"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "I wouldn't pay much attention to the symbolism. It doesn't really make sense.
But Being told constantly to "trust your partner" when your partner is not someone you should trust is not symbolism.
Your other two partners are, though.
I have a message from another time...I dunno. For all he's a douche (like that's surprising!), he didn't destroy Shibuya. Trusting him not to erase everything worked out pretty well for Neku.
Exactly. Refusing to fight him somehow got him to not erase Shibuya. Trust worked in the end.
:smug:So I'm playing the game some more, and I finally decided to build a secondary deck, with some ideas I'm not using in my main deck. For example, what do you think of a deck that uses a Black Hole psych combined with a Massive Hit?
Neku draws all the Noise into one spot while he charge the Massive Hit to do crazy damage once they're all gathered.
I have a message from another time...Could work, though I can't imagine it'd be good for the light puck.
Well, there'd be other stuff that takes advantage of clumped enemies, as well. Like Ice Risers, or even Jelly, if I could find a black hole pin that isn't a Reaper-Class.
But yeah. Gotta think of the light puck too...
I have a message from another time...Well, if Beat's your partner the light puck is screwed regardless, so you don't need to worry about it. But if you're using Shiki or Joshua speed is more important than everything else.
Well, I suppose other people might see it differently, but I love this game! (longish post coming up... sorry?)
Anyway, I hated Neku at the beginning too, but I get the feeling that was the point, so you'd really feel his development. Shiki 's past lack of self-confidence due to her old body somewhat explains why she put up with Neku for so long. Beat and Rhyme are just plain lovable and Beat's motive for becoming a Reaper played out nicely as well. I love Sho for the usual reasons, and I hope you do or else you'll never be able to put up with the game's community.
As for the Broken Aesop, (I couldn't remember if this was from the secret reports or not, so spoiled) it wasn't actually broken. Joshua pulled the whole thing because he didn't believe Shibuya could change- that wasn't right, of course, but that's not important. What is is that because Neku managed to change, he saved everyone else. Joshua saw the immense change in Neku and realized that Shibuya was still worth keeping. It's more than trusting a partner you shouldn't, Neku now had the trouble shooting that a normal person usually should, which came from feeling for the other. Neku didn't learn to understand others, necessarily, but he learned to accept and learn and care for them.
Also, go play Another Day right now if you haven't, and be sure to go to the Shibuya River! It's fantastic.
So... something weird is going on with one of my pins. I just picked up an Unjo pin (rapid tap an enemy for repeated stabs), and while I knew that it would interfere with my Innocence Beam (rapid tap empty space to fire bullets) a bit, something really strange happens, where sometimes Innocence Beam won't go off even when I'm not tapping an enemy, or when Unjo is already depleted. And sometimes when it is there, I tap empty space, and neither of the pins flash. I never had this problem before getting Unjo, do any of you know what the problem is here?
I have a message from another time...Odd. Can you put one in a subslot, or is there already something with the same motion there?
Are you accidentally pressing L/R? That activates the subslots, which your pins probably aren't set to.
"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "I don't have anything in the subslots right now (I'm playing on someone else's DS right now, and the shoulder button that I prefer, due to my hand dominance, is kinda busted) so maybe I'll try putting Innocence Beam on a subslot later. Because I really want to use both of those psychs. I think I like the close-range psychs way too much; Shockwave, Vulcan Uppercut, Stellar Flurry, the works.
I have a message from another time...Positive tends to be a bit skewed like that, but the pin with the highest DPS has been mathematically proven to be Black Uranus. Every psych has a hidden stat called Efficiency, which is a multiplier on damage. Black Uranus' efficiency is 300%, but only when combined with the other Darklit Planet pins. Otherwise, it's 100%.
List of psychs by efficiency: Fully charged Massive Hit: 200% Pressure Mine explosion: 200% Burst Round: 150% Rhyme: 120% Vortex Saber, Piercing Pillar S, Nexus Ray: 100% Apport C, Grave Marker, Lance Lunge: 80% Flame Blast: 74% Earthquake, Splash Core, Time Bomb: 65% Explosion, Lightning Arrester: 55% Irregular Note, Piercing Pillar R, Lightning Bolt: 50% Fire Barrier, Flame Core, Spark Core, Velocity Crash, Vulcan Uppercut: 45% Thunderbolt, Thundercloud, Thunderstorm: 42% Lolita Bat (a specific pin), Discharge H, Spear Strike: 40% Velocity Attack: 38% Dark Barrier, Pyrokinesis, Shockwave, Twister: 35% Skull Rabbit (another specific pin), Ignition, Street Jam, Apport T, Discharge R, Patrol Rounds S/T, Stellar Flurry: 30% Force Rounds (general, exceptions are noted): 25% Energy Rounds, Entanglement, Innocence Beam (specific pin), Frostbite, Holy Light, Apport C flak, Burst Round flak, uncharged Massive Hit: 20%
Pressure Mine explosion collisions vary from 100-400%.
Psychokinesis T varies from 40-230%.
Psychokinesis S and D vary from 20-115%.

"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "Hm... yeah, I heard about that one.
...where do you buy your DS's Darklit Planet pin again?
I have a message from another time...The Black Planet set is vaguely broken, yes (would be outright if it had better healing, moving and melee options). Early game melee pins are better than ranged. Then you get Thunder Rook.
The planets are drops from the hardest bosses on ultimate.

... To right the countless wrongs of our day, we shine this light of pure redemption, to make this place as paradise. What a wonderful world such would be...

I have a message from another time...
Just beat the game
Final boss was annoying because I had a combo focused deck, and someone thought it would be a good idea to make the final boss take up most of the screen and be immobile.
Trust your partner? The one it was stressed for the most turned out to be the guy who killed you in the first place, be schemeing bastard and all around someone that should not have unconditional trust.
Hey at least the real Shiki can figure out how to dress herself, unlike Eri
