Lux nodded to Rey, then looked to the older Zeta. "Not coming with us?"

Rey blinked, looking down at the sphere in his hands, then back. "What is...? Is this what I think it is...?"

"I am far too old and drained. I would simply get in the way. If you wish I can send some of my bots to help out." Zeta said to Lux.

"If you think it is a portable piece of what the common room was made of then yes, it is what you think it is. The thing only has a few uses out of it though. We're still working on making it portable."

Lux bowed courteously to Zeta then, "Best of luck to you as well."

She then took another step towards the portal, "Rey?"

Rey nodded slightly, face hardening slightly. "I'll do what I can with it." He tucked it to his side and looked up, then bowed his head a little. "Thank you. I won't forget your kindness."

Rey looked to Lux, then headed for the portal. "Right behind me!" With that, he jumped through, free arm up and ready.

Before he did, Lux tagged him with her staff, shielding both.

The lightstaff's silver energy blade before her, she followed suit.

Gordon took one last glance at Zeta, before sprinting through the portal, to whatever lay beyond.

What Ravage's reaction to any events would have been shall forever remain a mystery, alas, for before he could do anything at all in response to the arrival of yet more seemingly friendly Nomads or the fact that the planet was seemingly shaking itself to pieces around him, a disk of cracking black energy appeared on the floor beneath his feet. The towering Decepticon barely had enough time to look down and let out a sharp exclamation of alarm before this crackling black mass rose rapidly into the air, swallowing him up and cutting his foul oath off mid-syllable; in less than a second, nothing remained to show that the former Predacon Covert Agent had ever been present.

Whether this strange apparition had teleported him elsewhere against his will, or simply reduced the Decepticon to stray atoms, one thing was perfectly clear; one moment ago a Transformer had been standing there, and now he was gone.

And of course, no one cared.

Naoto followed after Gordon into the portal, gripping her pistol in preparation for what awaited them.

When the Challengers steppe d out of the portal, they would find themselves in the very core of the planet, a large metal sphere covered with controls, wires, glowing lines, and unidentifiable pieces of technology. In the cery center of it all lay the prostrate and wounded form of Omega, barely alive and quietly weeping. If he noticed the sudden appearance of the Challengers, come to finish him off, the final insult to a day filled with ignominy, he apparently didn’t notice. The challengers would notice that all around them, admid the ridges of hypodermic spines and unidentifiable wepaonry, tubes in which floated the hsuks of beings too decayed to recognize, all of whom were apparenty connected to the bleeding form of the Nomad thorugh a series of pumps. In fact, it seemed that their energy was one of the only things keepin him alive.

“ It could’ve… I could’ve… created a paradise…” he said through eyes stained with silvery-green tears, orange and green fluids leaking out from the gashes on his body. “ DO YOU HEAR?” he suddenly screamed, apparently aware of the Challengers in a moment of lucidity. “ WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!” he bellowed, pointing to the group. “ Kill me and get it over with!” he continued, it becoming increasingly clear that his grasp on his sanity was becoming more and more tenuous.

Gordon didn't hesitate to raise his pulse rifle and train it on the nomad. He was ready to end this all. Ready to kill this bastard. Ready to go home.

"You brought this on yourself, you son of a bitch."

Blink stayed back. She wasn't really sure what to do, this technology was horrific and unfamiliar to her.

Kimimaro stepped forward. "What, exactly, was your plan? And your reasons for it?"

The Doctor's voice keeps rising in a more and more angry and aggressive tone. "No Gordon. Don't sully your hands with his blood. Let him grow old and die in increasing madness. Do not lower yourself to his standards. Any of you."

Lux looks to the doctor, then back to Omega. "He knows we come for his punishment. Let our anger no longer be misdirected."

She approached the first tank, eying the organic debris inside, casually swinging the lightsaber's blade near the connecting conduits.

"This is it then."

Spriggan followed Rey and the others after hearing goodbye from Zeta.

The anger is still seeping into the voice as winds start to form a a storm. "No Lux. We do not kill him. We will not bloody our hands with his filth."

Phi and Narumi jumped in the portal and they hears of Omega's request.

"No, this is what he wants. If we kill him, he wins!" Narumi said.

" No... This is what I would want. It's best to grant him this wish." Phi said.

Sub-Zero jumped into the portal and learned of the situation.

"Let me freeze him," said Sub-Zero. "It'd be a kindness to both his sanity and ours. But I do want to know..." The assassin turned to Omega. "Omega, can you tell me whom I represent in this game of gods? Whichever of you picked me saved my life, and I want to be able to thank them properly."

"I care not who brought me here" Kimimaro said, as he walked up to the fallen Nomad. "What I want to know is ... why? Why did you seek to detonate a weapon that would damage the very fabric of reality? What did you possibly stand to gain from such an endeavor?"

"I'm in favor of using this."

Spriggan got one of his few remaining incendiary grenades from his tac vest.

"I'd be content to watch him burn."

"No," said Sub-Zero. "It wouldn't be right to kill him for being in our way. I should know. My brother did that at every chance he got, and where did he end up? Burnt alive by a man he killed." The ninja then turned back to Omega. "Trust me, it'd be more merciful to put you in deep freeze. I've done this before."

He was tired. Tired of all this fighting, tired of all this killing.

And so, the Hero of Time stepped back....

And watched.

Sub-Zero turned to the group.

"Champions," he said, "it has been an honor fighting alongside you. I know our remaining time together will be brief. Once we have decided what to do with him..." He gestured at Omega. "...we will probably be sent back to the Common Room, and then on our way home. Therefore, I propose that when we return to the Common Room, we should leave something behind to honor all we have done."

Galen went and stood, silently, beside Link. He, too, was tired of fighting. He just wanted to find a quiet place to meditate upon his experiences with this hectic group of people.

Bowser stood by Link, arms folded, a look of disgust on his face. He would not do anything to what had become of this creature.
