A Game of Gods: A Multiversal Challenge

The darkness of interversal space. From there, ‘’something’’ observed the chaos and turmoil that the interstellar travellers and their unwilling toys had fallen into, only compounded by the arrival of the transforming planet-eater and the avalanche of sudden and abrupt revelations as many plans came to fruition. And, to put it mildly, it felt great fear- not only for the safety of the motley group that called itself the Challengers, not only for the petty, backstabbing creatures known as Nomads, the sad and bitter remnants of a once proud stellar empire. Billions of years ago, when the stars were young, it might have called them ‘children’. No, the creature felt a deeper, baser fear- a fear that Omega’s plans would come to fruition and have much deeper resonations than any of the Challengers or Nomads would ever realize.

The Nomads who swirled through the planetary complex like quiet and solitary ghosts, to a more ethical being, would not be worth saving, but for its own inscrutable reasons the being swung into action. It was not hard for a being of its calibre- a few stray atoms in Omega’s control room suddenly found themselves the unwilling targets of a precisely placed bit of nuclear fission, the resultant atomic blasts ripping into Omega’s control room and leaving the already scarred and bleeding Nomad a wreck- barely conscious, with no Nomads in sight to leech energy off of. “ Whoooo…dares… fight me… like a coward?” wheezed the broken creature, head feebly turning this way and that as he tried top locate his attacker with no success. He tried to turn around and urge the systems back to life, to refocus on his ultimate goal, piloting his amazing weapon- how could he give up when victory over all other Nomads was imminent?- but again, the subtle attacks of the other Nomads had conspired to ensure that the control device of the bomb, and indeed many of the other systems laced through the control room were inoperable. Omega screamed- a scream of rage and frustration, a scream of hate distilled into its purest form, a scream of a lifetime of work utterly collapsed.

From the confine's of Zeta's chamber, the entire group would hear a sudden series of harsh vibrations, less controlled and spaced then the roar of the planet's engines, as a series of explosions tore their way through the planet, the atomic blasts somehow managing to cripple the crucial systems of the bomb not already disabled by the combined attacks of the other Nomads.

Far away, the entity felt satisfaction as it watched the would-be warlord scream like a frustrated child at the loss of his weapon. The second part of its daring plan was now at hand. A carefully placed cascade of nth-dimensional space created a portal in front of the challengers, glowing a lustrous silver. The smooth marble floors and hall behind and around them, to make matter worse, were clearly beginning to collapse as the planet-cum-weapon ground to a halt, the sudden loss of inertia taking its effect on the underground complex...

"In we go!" Shouted Galen, and leapt into the portal.

Link jumped in after Galen.

"Hurry!"

He beckoned to the Doctor.

Rey stared at the portal, wincing, glancing to the others. "This is it, isn't it?"

Gordon quickly scanned the chamber, then turned to the others.

"Well, everybody through, now!" he yelled. "Wherever this leads, it's sure as hell better then here!"

Blink eyed the portal curiously. Who caused it? Where did it come from?

Kisame grabbed Blink and dragged/carried her through the portal as he himself stepped through. Kimimaro turned to Zeta, Chi, Phi, and Iota.

"Let's go!" he shouted, and then leapt through.

The Doctor stays behind. "Zeta! Chi! Come on!"

Rey glanced back, wincing. "Doc, come on...we gotta go..."

Blink blinked several times, but shrugged.

"Wherever we're going, let's hope it's awesome!" she said, before vanishing through the portal.

Gordon remained behind, waiting to make sure the others got through.

The Doctor grabs Chi and runs into the portal. "Good-bye Zeta... Good luck."

Rey watched the Doctor go, wincing as he looked up at Gordon. "Is this as scary as any of the stuff you've done before?"

"Charge!"

Spriggan was about to move in when he decided against it, encouraging the three to get in. Durant and Michael followed close by with the Black Stig jumping in the portal, leaving the TGS agent for the meantime.

Lux looked at the portal, then back to Zeta. With a quick strike she severed the base of the obelisk, the Nomad still imprisoned inside. "Someone help me move this!" she screamed to the rapidly-departing group.

Gordon turned, raising his gravity gun as he ran to the opposite side of the obelisk.

"I'll see what I can do!"

He began to hit it with bolts of pure force, trying to shove the obelisk into the portal as best he could.

-The Dullahan grabs the obelisk in one hand and starts to move it towards the portal.-

Rey scooted out of the way, looking over his shoulder as he did.

"Can we bring that with us?" Spriggan said, wondering if they got time to do so before the portal closes for good.

Lux hovered almost protectively behind it, then stayed by Rey's side once the Dullahan and Gordon managed to get it moving.

"Soon as they get through, I'll go first Lux, you stay right behind me. If there's something waiting to attack, I can soak up a hit better than you can, and give you time to react to it."

Lux nodded. Tactics. She could do tactics. "I'll shield you just before you go in. I hope however these portals work don't disrupt that."

Oooohoohoohohohoho, That's Exquisite, junior...

— Blasts of plasma hot as the surface of the sun roared into the creature's backside, seemingly from the empty air. The scythe whirled and glimmered.—

But Really, Does Yer Father Ever Call You "Son"? C'mon, Proud boy, Tell Me The Truth...

—The ancient reaper sliced down on one of the tentacle-originating stumps with an unusual addition of force.—

— BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM...

The horrendous metal hulk of Unicron surged into motion with a throaty roar of His world-engines. The red star trembled.

Within the devouring furnace, Tau's mind would be the absolute last thing to go. —

Tau's mind screams in agony. Must take control for the cause. Will not lose to...

Tau's mind starts fading.

Rey winced some, looking up. "I guess we'll find out..." He lowered his head, making a slight grunt of pain. "As soon as we can..."

"Hey Mysterio!" One of the Zeta-bots shouted. He ran up to Rey and handed him a white orb, if he held it he would notice a distinct lack of texture or any sort of feeling from it at all. "A present. Should probably work best in your hands."

With the obelisk partially destroyed its connection to the room was severed. Now it was just simply a rock. The rest of the Zeta-bots jumped on it, smashing it to pieces and freeing the skinny and frankly sickly-looking Zeta. They picked him up to his feet and summoned a floating pod for him to sit in from the floor. "Good luck challengers."
