A Game of Gods: A Multiversal Challenge

SUCH FAITH, the titan said with a shake of its head, not reacting at all as Bowser slammed into an energy field and was promptly disintegrated right in the middle of his leaping attack. The danmaku from the two Flandres chipped steadily away at the back of its head, but the damage was relatively minimal and it did not react at all; similarly, Narumi's blast to its damaged chest brought little more than a pained grimace to the god's face. WERE IT NOT MISGUIDED AND MISPLACED, YOUR CERTAINTY MIGHT ALMOST BE ADMIRABLE. BUT IT SHALL AVAIL YOU NOT; FOR I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD, WHO BROUGHT YOU UP OUT OF THE LAND OF EGYPT, OUT OF THE HOUSE OF SLAVERY, AND YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME!

With those words, the two spears shot forth on an unerring trajectory, only to slam into a corruscating wall of concentric silver octagons and strain against this field, held in place and thus rendered harmless.

Bafflement spread across the titan's face, a dumbstruck stupor which quickly gave way to rage. WHAT?!

There was an intense silver radiance coming from somewhere over Kimimaro's shoulder; were he to turn around, the shinobi would see Dr. Ikari standing there behind him, face twisted into a harsh mask of determination and arms outstretched as if holding off an immense weight. An astonishing change had come over the archaelogist, for not only did he now glow with an eye-watering silver light, but his skin had turned a shade of grey so dark that it was almost black, and strange, geometric lines of power flowed up and down his skin like quicksilver, forming patterns of perfect symmetry and mathematical precision; furthermore, his brown pupils had also become as sterling silver, and the sclerae of his eyes had turned black as pitch. More than this, however, was the sheer power which now exuded from his every pour; though not visible to the naked eye, something about the way he held himself now and the way the light glowed gave one the impression that he was no longer simply human but a cosmological force in human form; save the titan itself and perhaps Bolas, he was easily the single most powerful entity in the chamber

The effigy's eyes narrowed in cold fury. YOU DARE ENTER MY REALM, INTERLOPER?

"I dare a whole lot more than that," the archaeologist replied, his voice deepening an octave into one which some of the Champions would recognize almost instantly. He clenched his fists, and suddenly the oscillating field of octagons folded inward like the skin of a trampoline before rapidly snapping back, sending the titan's own spears streaking back towards it at hypersonic speeds.

The effigy had no time at all to react before the blazing shafts of energy slammed into it, and with a howl of pain it was blown backwards to slam against the wall with tremendous force, slumping forward as though in a daze.

"Now, while he's off-balance!" Dr. Ikari yelled. "Hit him with everything you have!"

Gordon didn't really care to question what was happening. Instead, he raised his RPG, took aim at the gold being, and fired for the huge head again. This wasn't the time, really, to be questioning this or attacking the being currently using Shin's body.

"Very well," said Galen, "FEEL THE POWER OF THE FORCE, ABOMINATION!" And with that, he shot the statue with the most powerful Force Lighting he ever conjured.

The two Flandres grinned when the oddly gray man gave her the okay to give it everything she had. They both turned black and burst into a cloud of bats before the cloud condensed once more into a single Flandre. She glowed blood red and faded into shadow as she held up one last card.

And Then There Were None?

Flandre had completely vanished from sight as walls upon walls of Danmaku of various color appeared around the golden god. He had but moments to even notice them before he was beset by a storm of danmaku from every side. It seemed never ending and just kept hammering into him. It was a hell of bullets.

Narumi fires off another fully charged blast, targeting the statue's chest. Narumi then falls to the floor.

"Now... feel the full might of a devotee of the Six-Paths Sage and of the True Lord. Hi-ougi..."

Kimimaro dashed forward, and then slammed his palms into the ground in front of the false god.

"Sawarabi no Mai!!!"

Hundreds of massive spikes of bone, far harder than steel, speared up from the ground that the false god now lay upon. Bolstered by Kimimaro's power, anger, and faith, and with the false god's current weakened state, they punched deep into its gilded body, rending hundreds of holes deep into its unholy form, some of the larger spikes punching clear through and out the other side.

Rey let out a long breath, then stood, flinging more shadowstuff, calling out. "Keep...keep..."

This is important. Stated Mal-Keshar flatly, and Rey could feel more power coursing through him.

—Megatron settled beyond the Demiurgos' head, burning through with his boots.—

Well Done, Agent Ravage. Now, DECEPTICONS FOREVER!

— Setting his reactor capacity to 100% percent, Megatron blasted all but his emergency power through the cables, right into the false god's brain through his optic nerves. —

Rey gasped, then nodded, getting to his feet, moving closer again, swirling up more of the shadows into a larger attack, seemingly slowly swelling a sphere ahead of himself as he went. "Give it all I got...aim for the cracks...biggest one yet..."

For your family, Rey. For my father. For Galas. SPIT INTO NAIA'S EYE!

Rey squeezed his eyes shut, gritting his teeth. "Get angry...get...ANGRY!" He turned, bringing up the sphere of shadowstuff, nearly his own size, and flung it for the visible crack in the creature, crying out with the effort.

"Ding!" Natsu felt his power return after eating more flames from his surroundings.

"Dragon God's Resplendent Explosion of Mastery." Natsu said, pulling his arms in different directions to cause a massive explosion of energy erupt near the cracks on the statue after imbuing the surrounding air with volatile Dragonslayer magic.

The titan could do little more than snarl in impotent rage as Flandre's ultimate spell card unleashed hell upon it, countless millions of danmaku slamming into it from every angle and chipping steadily away at its immense stone body until there wasn't a single point on the colossus that was not cracked and pockmarked; it leaned forward in an attempt to swat her from the sky, but then a veritable forest of bony spikes erupted from the floor to surround and impale it, and it bellowed in pain as the great spars of bone pinned it in place.

It was not completely helpless, however, and twin beams of golden death lanced forth from its eyesockets in an attempt to annihilate the gnats attacking it. These did not get far, however, before they were intercepted by another oscillating octagon of silver energy and reflected back into its eyes, and the titan screamed as both molten orbs crumbled into dust, leaving naught but a pair of cavernous orbits in their wake. The titan's screams only intensified as Megatron then electrocuted what passed for its brain, causing sparks of electricity and rays of light to shine out through its ears, eyesockets and mouth, and a loud crack rang out as deep fissures began to spread across its stone body.

Then Narumi and Natsu's blasts took it in the chest, and the god threw back its head in a scream of rage and agony; Rey's supercharged blast of shadowstuff struck the chest cavity a moment later, and the statue abruptly froze in place and lost its lustre, the glow fading as the sound of crumbling rock and gravel began to fill the chamber. Slowly at first, then with increasing speed and noise, the gargantuan effigy began to fall apart, clumps of sandstone breaking off to fall to the floor far below; its arms were the first to go, rapidly crumbling into dust, and then its torso followed. The head, which was coming apart more slowly than the previous pieces of its body, had just enough time to tumble to the floor and shatter into a million pieces.

Even as the statue finally died, the spheres of light around Bolas pulsed once more, renewed with energy for another wave of attacks. Snakes gathered around his feet as he turned to regard what used to be a human. "Now that that is out of the way, identify yourself, extra-dimensional being using our escort as a host"

"Is it... gone?"

The Doctor shudders when he hears the voice on the TV. "Is it..."

— This head also nearly crushed the now heavily damaged but smirking Emperor of Destruction beneath it, the Decepticon war lord trying to stand within the ruin. —

Rey went down to his knees, panting for breath, glancing around somewhat.

"Are...we...okay...? Gordon? Flandre? Galen? Everyone?"

The Danmaku faded as Flandre returned to visibility and looked down at the remains. She stuck her tongue out at it before she flew back down to the ground to join the others. "I'm okay Mr. Rey." She said.

"...And thus, His work is done." Kimimaro said with a calm sigh. He then turned to the possessed Dr. Ikari. "Lambda, I presume? I had assumed you were another heartless enemy Nomad like Digamma and Quingenti."

Back in the Common Room, Kisame watched in awe as the false god was obliterated. Then he recognized the silvery patterns on Dr. Ikari.

"Saren-san?" he called out to the Turian. "I think that the Nomad named Lambda from the records just helped the Challengers win their fight."

"Yes, Rey, I am... fine. Though I am really tired and and I think I am going to snap."

The Doctor smiles which contrasts with the darkness in his voice. "Lambda. The leader of these accursed so-called gods. He must have done it so we can compete in more games."

Rey nodded slightly at what he heard from the others and Mal-Keshar...then he rolled his eyes back slightly and slumped to the ground.

Link got up, relatively unharmed, though winded.

"Did we... win?"
