Gordon, who had fought alongside the others within Doctor Langley's mind, sprinted to her outstretched hand. She reached to take it, and grasped in in his gloved hand and pulled.

"Good work, Doctor Langley," he said with a smile as he made to pull her out. "Good work."

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

Kimimaro charged, his boneblades ripping through Shadows. He approached Dr. Langley's hand, grabbing tight and starting to pull her free; any harm dealt to him by the thorny tendrils of the Shadows revealed a layer of ultra-dense bone just beneath the surface of his skin, and each wound dealt was soon visibly sealing itself up. Spikes of bone regularly shot out from his body and then retracted, each spearing strike impaling a Shadow who got too close while avoiding hitting any of the Challengers or Overlords.

Spriggan stopped in his tracks when he saw the barrier.

"Shit. Can't reach her. It's up to the doctor now."

The TGS agent reached out for an incendiary grenade from his vest and gripped it carefully before placing it in his right pants pocketing and shouldering the G36C.

"Hang in there."

A triumphant smile spread across Jack's face as he watched this display of defiance at the darkness. Though the shadows fell upon him, howling, with terrible fury, his sword seemed to move even faster than it had been, cutting apart swaths of demons and reducing them to smoke and dust. Seeing Gordon be the first to reach for the doctor, he could hardly do otherwise than help, and, breaking out of the combat, lunged forward to lend his own aid, wherever he might be of help.

"Once again," he said, "thank you!"

The Doctor growls and pulls out Mason's guns.

Rey stared at Bowser's fingers a moment, then reached out, poking at them, grinning again before flicking back the visor of his helmet, putting on Gordon's glasses and turning to sit back down, looking around, blinking. "Fuzz."

His resolve and spirit strengthened, Link cut through the tendrils surrounding Dr Langely, and got to work defending her and the rest from the frenzied attacks of the Shadows.

"Doctor...Well done, Doctor. Well done."

A radiant smile was on his smile, even as he spun and slashed and ducked and hacked at the creatures, turning them to dust with swift strokes of his blade, which shone through the air.

She had triumphed.

"I do know who I am," the red-headed scientist ground out as Gordon, Kimimaro and Jack all seized her firmly by the wrist. "I am Aska Langley-Ikari, the one and only! I! Am! Me!!!"

With that final shout, the champions were able to tear her free of her thorny prison; the doctor let out a great cry of pain—and triumph—as the smoky barbs ripped deeply into her flesh, and she stumbled several steps forwards as fresh blood ran down her sides and back. A horrific and heavily distorted scream of rage erupted from the invisible mouths of the shadowy tormentors, who froze up as though locked in a sudden bout of paralysis and began to crack and fragment like glass sculptures which had been struck full-on by a sledgehammer; scant seconds later they came apart with the distinctive sound of shattering glass, their remains clattering to the 'floor' and dissolving rapidly into gouts of noxious black smoke.

Dr. Langley had dropped down to one knee, breathing heavily as her wounds began to heal up; though the red-headed scientist was still naked, she made no move at all to cover herself, either too overcome with exhaustion or triumph at her recent ordeal to give thoughts of modesty any real consideration. Slowly the doctor held up a hand, flexing her fingers in evident satisfaction; anyone paying attention might notice that it was her right arm, and that—here, in this mindscape at least—it was clearly real and organic, rather than a glossy prosthetic.

"I'm me," she repeated to herself a moment later, smiling faintly.

The blow caught the creature in the middle of its abdomen, causing it to low in agitation. Its tail strained within Megatron's grasp, attempting to cover the last few inches separating it from the outermost lenses of the Decepticon's optic, and as it did so its chitinous legs continued to claw and scratch at his armoured torso, leaving deep gashes and rents in the Cybertronian metal.

Waving away the remnants of the smoke, coughing somewhat, Jack got to his feet and sheathed his sword with an air of finality.

"So you are," he agreed. Then, belatedly, he become more aware of her state of undress, and turned rather red in the face, looking away.

"Um...we should find this key that was spoken of and depart this place at once," he said, speaking a little too fast to sound normal.

Kimimaro's Cursed Seal receded and returned to dormancy. He averted his eyes, a light blush on his face (time as Orochimaru's minion meant he never really got the chance to learn how to deal with women; Tayuya was only interacted with during missions).

Link closed his eyes briefly, and sheathed his sword.

Despite the redhead being completely naked, Link made no sign of reacting or even noticing it at first, instead offering her a hand to pull her to her feet and a sincere smile.

Only then did he look away politely, but with no hint of embarrassment.
