It's also possible that Araki was just a better writer at that point. IMO there's a pretty noticeable jump in characterization quality in Di U from SDC.

Yeah Araki improves a lot on storytelling over the years so I wouldn't be surprised that's the main difference between hayato and runaway girl.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Wasn't her name Anne?
I go with the "Araki just got better at writing" argument, rather than gender differences. We know he is much more open to female characters being more proactive, as Parts 6-onwards show pretty well.
... And that's called jazz!
Fair enough.
I do forget about part 6....though I found it odd that the one arc with a female main character (and a larger female roster in general) is the one where the heroes kinda sorta fail (something that only technically happened before with the first arc).
I mean, sure Emporio came through in the clutch but it's still weird.
Of course, at this point I have to acknowledge that I might be reading too much into it as well.
One Strip! One Strip!Araki is a mixed bag at handling endings. The endings of the six first parts can be summed up as :
-bittersweet Diabolus ex Machina
-Litteral Deus ex Machina
-Ass Pull to even the odds. A cool one, but still one.
-Massive case of Idiot Ball from the gang to make the fight a one on one, admittedly a truly cool one.
-Eleventh hour Story-Breaker Power to surpass another, generally disliked even though I kinda like how over the top GER is.
-The Bad Guy Wins except not really.
Stone ocean doesn't seem that weird in the lot. haven't seen part 7 to comment on its ending.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Part 7 has a pretty Bittersweet Ending ( Gyro dies for pretty much nothing and Johnny loses the race, but regains his ability to walk, makes amends with his father and meets his future wife in the process), but Part 8 overrides it.

... And that's called jazz!Because I seem to recall that Kira had a game-breaking time ability that prevented the gang from finding him, and the moment they did Josuke, Okuyasu, Koichi, and Jotaro all contributed.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!nope. That ability was bypassed the second josuke engaged kira (and initially brought okuyasu along until he got benched because the hand used smartly negates killers queen's new powerup with straycat.) It's just that jotaro literally mistakes Josuke calling him from the other side of the street as the sound of the rain. They only contribute when kira starts literally running their way.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."The only reason Kira succeeds is because his chief adversaries are a gaggle of morons.
My various fanfics. It's unnecessary, exploitative, and frankly any amount of little girl butt is too much.
I wasn't bothered by Forever but the objection others can have of him should be obvious.
I wonder if the next Giogio episode is going to end on (big spoils) Bruno getting Kakyoin'd. That would be such a nasty place for a cliffhanger.
Anyone think they might animate the Fugo novels as an OVA?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."They did animate the Rohan spin-off, so why not?
I hope so. I thought Purple Haze Feedback was really good. It's quite a bit longer than any of Rohan's solo adventures though, so I don't know how feasible it would be.
Making it a multiple-OVA seiries could be a good way to tide the wait for Stone Ocean.
People are gonna want more Fugo & Purple Haze after all.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The fact that Part 5 is extremely popular gives me hope that it could happen.
Wait a sec, aren't we gonna have The Clash/Talking Heads now?
... And that's called jazz! Not just yet. We have the introduction of King Crimson first.
I actually get King Crimson pretty easily. You have a time of up to ten seconds to affect. Crimson can selectively undo whatever happened in that period, so if the two of you get in a Mutual Kill he can Ret-Gone his kill but keep your one. It's like editing software for videos, except with time.
King Crimson is definitely a case of Personality Powers. Diavolo is ultra-paranoid and tries to erase his past, his Stand can erase parts of time

I love it when Stands play up the Personality Powers aspect. Abbacchio and Fugo are also really good ones in this part.
The easiest way for me to understand KC was "lag in an online video game".
Maybe whatever plans he had were vetoed. It wouldn't be the first time he had to bend his story to fit the magazine's demands. We know Lisa Lisa was supposed to beat Kars in a straight fight, but that clearly didn't happen.
