...Okay, seriously, people? That's just considered an art style in Japan. It's telling that, in the first tournament arc in Dragon Ball, there are audience members who both look traditionally black and like this. Plus, how convenient that people like Smokey and Avdol are being overlooked, not to mention that Stone Ocean flat-out shows that the KKK is bad.
I don't feel offended by that image at all as a person of color, but I could see how people would be iffy about it. But you are correct that it requires ignoring all of the characters of color who were portrayed positively up to this point. Heck, Part 2 opens with Joseph beating up racist cops.
Stone Ocean did come out in the early 2000s.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Man it's weird having so many people in the series call Pucci a simp. Poor priests over in Japan.

Secret SignatureLove this scene:
Some comments point out how this is one of the earliest main protagonist/main antagonist encounter and how Jolyne is not aware that Pucci is the mastermind behind everything, with Pucci succesfully pretending to be a good guy.
I feel like it's a meme to undersell the complexity of Pucci and DIO's relationship.
I love that part of Jolyne's hesitation is in respect for his role as a priest.
I think Pucci may very well be my favorite JoJo villain, if not rivaling Kakyoin as my favorite character of the series. If you ask me, Pucci has the absolute best-developed story arc in the series, and while his ideals may not be as noble as that of Funny Valentine, Pucci, to me, has the perfect beginning, middle, and end to his characterization that not many other characters get to have.
Orcus on His Throne will always be my pet peeve.Wait, What? "Make a mildly altered world" is less noble than "screw every country not named USA"? Is there anything to respect in an attempt to make inequality skyrocket?
Most Jojo villains are just minding their own business with little to no empathy towards those around them, but Valentine and Kira are the only ones harming others is an essential and unavoidable part of their goals, and if they both succeeded, Valentine's body count would be at least some 5 or 6 digits higher than Kira's.
Valentine's ultimate goal was to apply Love Train to the entire United States Of America, which would have made it a perfect utopia, sure, but would also cause everything bad that happens in the entire country to be transferred randomly to every other place, making the entire rest of the world significantly worse.

I can't exactly tell why, but the brown and orange on Lang Rangler reminds me of Reese's peanut butter cups.
Orcus on His Throne will always be my pet peeve.
What's with the Namekian orange muscles?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyIt's just his outfit, I think the strips of fabric directly in front of his eyes are a bigger issue.
I can't tell if that's Didn't Think This Through or It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time. ^_^;;
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Oh my god, I just had an epiphany. You know what Weather Report's theme song sounds like to me? ...The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet. Really playing into his Amnesiac Hero status, hm?
Orcus on His Throne will always be my pet peeve.I also think Pucci's aspirations were more "noble" than Valentine's. He really only wanted to fuck over the Joestars specifically. And even then it was mainly just Jotaro until Jolyne started being an active thorn in his side.

Last Survivor is adding Diavolo.
Is it just me, or does Stone Ocean seem to have the absolute least amount of Ensemble Dark Horses in all of JoJo? I can't think of any minor character who people love as much as the likes of Yukako, Risotto Nero, or even Ringo Roadagain. ...Which is a shame, because I absolutely love Gwess and Lang Rangler.
Orcus on His Throne will always be my pet peeve.Rikiel is listed on the Ensemble Dark Horse page. Generally, I feel like all of the Sons Of Dio are fairly well-regarded, just for having some bombastic personalities and some of the most insane Stands in the Part.

It prolly get more in depth as the anime goes on.
Like the Lang Rangler fight was really good, surprised it was divisive until thinking the anti-grav stuff prolly looks better animated.
Vindicated by history will prolly be at play here.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Lang Rangler is easily the most improved aspect of Part 6 so far, they really made it worthy of being the season finale battle. Prior to the anime, I feel like most people thought it was one of the most forgettable fights in the series, though I could never understand why, it's Jojo IN SPACE!
(3) I mean, the thing about the Sons of Dio is that they're all one collective category. Most Ensemble Dark Horses in different parts can be considered individual from each other, like Hol Horse to D'Arby, Yukako to Yuya, Risotto to Cioccolata, or Ringo to Wekapipo. I rarely see any individual Dark Horsing from minor solo antagonists from Stone Ocean. There's rarely any talk of fondness over the likes of Gwess, Miraschon, Sports Maxx, Miumiu, or the like. Most of the love for characters in Stone Ocean I tend to only see found within the main characters. (Or in the form of a collective group with the Sons of Dio)

Orcus on His Throne will always be my pet peeve.Does Tooru's Wonder of U counter Giorno's Gold Experience Requiem?

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).And on a different note. My god.
Benjamin Diskin (Young Joseph) was the voice of Szayel from Bleach, an antagonist who proclaimed themselves to be the perfect being. Guess how he died.
That is some hilarious casting.

I thought it was just a reference to this cover.
