The point of this thread is to list your favorite tropers and say what makes you like them so much. Please be specific; we already have Gushing About Shows You Like if you want to gush about TV Tropes or the Forums in general.
EDIT: Chopped the list because it's now quite outdated, and there are some comments in here that only made sense back in 2009 and may have even been a bit creepy.

I had to leave yesterday while it was Faw-Gushing time because that time is inappropriately late for the Faw (something ain't right with that!), but... thanks, guys! Somehow you people still manage to sound sincere even after the fishing. I have no idea, how.

Incidentally, I too prefer the IJBM community. Some of the topics may be idiotic, but overall good discussion often goes on there.

People make a lot of emphasis on a distinction that's really almost not there, the userbase overlap between IJBM and YF is very big, it's just that the nature of each place means the conversations are different.
