What interesting things have you only recently learned about?
To be clear, this is about things which have been true for some time and you only recently learned about, not things that only happened recently. In particular, recent deaths of celebrities and other high-profile individuals should go in the General RIP Thread.
So, what interesting things have you guys...and gals...only recently learned about?

Peace is the only battle worth waging.Devolver Digital is based in Austin, Texas.
I recently read on Wikipedia that The National Post writer Tristan Hopper once said: "Unlike most children's programming, Caillou makes almost no attempt to educate its young audience. There are no veiled math problems, spelling lessons or morality tales; it's just calm, non-threatening, bright-coloured people navigating everyday tasks."
Given that Caillou also holds what might be a record for "educational preschool cartoon with most banned episodes" (seven are banned, if you're wondering), he might actually have a point; the fact that so many of that show's episodes were banned in comparison to how many banned episodes there are in similar shows somehow slipped by me, as did the potential lack of actual educational content. The next time I see a Caillou episode (if that ever happens at all), I'm going to pay special attention for if it contains any content that's actually educational to prove this theory.
UPDATE: (remembers there's an episode that teaches about Type 1 diabetes) ...oh, right. That's just one episode, though. I'm still keeping to my word the next time I see a Caillou episode.
Pretty much the only indicator that they're banned that I can think of is that they are no longer shown in reruns. As for actual sources, I unfortunately have none.

Can I get a source for those banned episodes? I’ve seen it mentioned, but not by anyone I’d consider reliable.
If you want to watch, “Caillou Joins the Circus” (probably the most infamous episode) can be viewed here.

Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.The Telltale Games death match is speeding up: most, if not all of their games are disappearing from Steam listings, and I expect the console versions to not be far behind, provided they haven't been delisted from those storefronts already, as well.
