@ Spork': sob
@ Iverum, Tzetze: The problem is that Valentine doesn't really do sarcasticky monologues. Monologues are, like, by nature drawn toward the pensive and etketterar. Maybe the short bit when he takes the fisherman as a hostage and demands the tiger-voiced man's help?
As for D'Urfe, there's this:

survival of the tight-lippedI dunno, I thought my Valentine monologue, while not being exactly sarcastic, conveyed a sufficient amount of... irreverence?
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. The tiger voiced man without growling.
Hmm, I don't believe it but I think my mic's too sensitive.
It's probably vocaroo, not your mic.
the future we had hoped for@ Spork': Well, he's also pondering what he considers the biggest mistake of his life during it. I guess I mean monologues tend to have a pensive air to them?
@ Tzetze: Oh, and the Serpent has a longish bit on page 160, talking about golems.
@ Dorkus: Ha, that's perfect. Doesn't the growling hurt your throat though? Fortunately, the tiger-voiced man doesn't monologue... I think. And yeah, vocaroo sucks. We need to find better audio programs, etketera.
Actually, any of y'all handy with audio editing? Cleaning stuff up, doing splicey things and sound effects and blah?

survival of the tight-lippedI've expiremented with growling for a while actually. I've gotten it down to a point where if I do it right I can actually full out sing while growling.
However, if I do it wrong I'll be in a coughing fit rather quickly
I'm presently teaching myself a bit about audio editing, but you might try Spain or somebody...

@ Tzetze: Ah, right. Don't want to bother people who haven't signed up for it, though, you know?
@ Poni': Hey, I have that. I stumble around in it like a half-asleep child, though.

survival of the tight-lippedDorkus: I like the non-growling version better. Tigers are big cats, after all, and there's always a sense of calm/thoughtfulness/laziness that felines have. The growling-version sounds too harsh.

Right, of course, of course. Well, I have Audacity, along with some more esoteric tools, sooooo I guess I could try doing things.
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.^^You could always compromise and have a little bit of a growly... like, undertone, but keep it mostly smooth.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.I can also do some basic audio editing.
More sarcastic and cruel Valentine.
dysfunctional human artistry^Ooh, me likey.
OK, up to 125. And I have to say, I like this comic, but my god is there so damn much Ho Yay between the narrator/Eira and Valentine. So. Much.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Iverum and I are going to try doing a dialogue.
the future we had hoped forHmm, I'm not sure if I could pull off a mix of a little bit growly and smooth.
I'm trying it and I feel I veer a little too much to the growl side.
@ Spork: Really? I've always read the narrator as being rather young, so I've always seen it as a Nakama-ish big-brother dynamic. Eira didn't seem much older than the narrator, either.
@ Poni: FAWESOME.
@ Dorkus: What about smooth most of the time, and growly for emphasis?

survival of the tight-lippedNah, it's mostly on Valentine's end for me. It doesn't help how bishie all the characters are.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. Here's my reading for Vin! For some reason my cold decided to attack again, though, so my voice is a bit softer than usual.
I'm starting to develop a soft spot for the Lady, though. I hope nobody else tries out for her.

Dialogue between Valentine and Ganymar. Not the cleanest audio, but it was a quick splice. I think I can clean up the static in it if I took some time.
dysfunctional human artistryWhereabouts you from, Sharysa? You have a lovely but hard-to-place lilt.
Also Iverum that is a nice little conversation. I think your voices fit very well as those two characters.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Poni was doing Ganymar.
dysfunctional human artistryI knew it was you and Poni, that's why I said "your voices" plural.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Ah, I didn't see that.
dysfunctional human artistry
Same question.
Or any lines at all really.
