The review for Phantom Menace is just unbelievably eye-opening. I thoroughly enjoyed watching each and every weak element of the film pointed out and getting a detailed explanation of why it was weak, without Fan Wank. And after watching it, I'm convinced that Qui-Gon really is the eponymous character.
Looking for some stories?Just watched the Crystal Skull review. Wow, suddenly he's a pedophile now? I mean, jacking off to the young Olsen twins is the grossest thing I've seen in the review. More gross than touching the cat's poop.
Don't get me wrong I really like his reviews and even rewatch some of them but that was just wrong.
I need a shower.
It's blacker than black. Sometimes he edges toward the Seth Mcfarlane zone and I don't like it.
I'm a skeptical squirrelYeah I could have done without that gag too.
^^ Plinkett is, of course, a character. To say that the Plinkett character is a pedophile, I'd say, would be an accurate statement. Also keep in mind that gag is a throwback to some early RLM videos featuring Rich Evans as Plinkett with old Olsen Twins videos spliced in, so the gag didn't exactly come out of nowhere. Still gross as hell though.
Does anyone here watch Half in the Bag, and if so, what do you think of it? I like it, but it can be a bit boring from time to time, depending on what they're talking about and how long the video goes on for.
The only gross-out skits I could have done without were the picture of a real woman -whose face was deformed because she was shot or something like that- with the "OMG! What's wrong with your face!" and the "Eating pussy" bit in Cop Dog review. I thought the masturbation skit was hilarious.
Agreed with @johnnyfog. Also, what's his problem with Karen Allen anyways. He kept mocking her with the toll booth joke. I know it's supposed to be in-character for Plinkett to say that but I really think it's just an excuse for RLM to mock the poor woman for no reason at all other than the character she's playing.
@Main Man J Kinda liked it. You can see their passion for filmmaking when talking about the movies they're reviewing.
Though I do wish Jay would stop with the awkward laugh each time Mike made a joke.

I took it more as a joke that her acting career fizzled up in the time between Raiders and Crystal Skull.
I wonder how Mike and Jay chat about movies and still make it look spontaneous. They have to go to all the trouble of costumes, a set, and inserts of jokes.
Of course, they hang around sets all day IRL.

I'm a skeptical squirrelI think about half of what they say is scripted, and the other half is improv.
Well, obviously.
But I would have trouble chatting off-the-cuff about a movie in that environment.
I'm a skeptical squirrelIn celebration of the release of The Phantom Menace in 3D, the Phantom Menace Review has been 3D converted, outtakes for the character description scene have been released, and there's a commentary track for the film in character as Plinkett.
The commentary is nice, and while it has its funny moments and good points, it's nowhere near as insightful or hilarious as any of the other Plinkett reviews. It's clear that there isn't enough material left for a 2+ hour commentary on the film, and we're left with some painful one-liners that don't fit with the series' sense of humor. But it's still better than listening to the actual movie! And it's worth listening to if you're a fan.
Needs a new signature.Anyone watched the latest ep? Is that freaking Nadine at the end? Also, I saw one interesting comment.
"THIS IS A PREQUEL TO NADINE'S REVENGE! Oh my god, the skeletons in the basement are Mike and Jay!"
Well, apparently, there are two Plinketts.
I guess there are two Nadines?◊

I'm a skeptical squirrelSo Red Letter Media has a new thing:
I love Mario Kart. : D
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I'm looking forward to seeing what Plinkett's next review, though I feel his last two or so reviews haven't been up to his previous standards.
Wasn't his next one supposed to be The Last Airbender?
"It's done too! It's right here, it's on my webzone right now."

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987It's hard to imagine him reviewing something so far from his comfort zone.
Then again, the pattern is "Blockbuster", "Defenseless kid's movie", "Blockbuster." So it seems reasonable that the next one will be a kid's film.
I'm a skeptical squirrelS Omething's been bugging me for a while, but I've really been wroking hard to track down to stock background music from Plinkett's reviews and, what the hell is the background song he usually uses at the start of each review? the one that usually plays right at the start? I've really wanted to know what it was.
I've actually wanted to do that for a long time too. Particularly because I've noticed that It'sJustSomeRandomGuy, Know Your Meme, Redlettermedia, and television ads for the Discovery Channel (among other tv ads I've seen) all draw from the same pool of music. For example, the "credits" music for Half in the Bag is the same music as the "Rorschach and Deadpool" theme song, and I've seen, I think, a Rogers cable ad that uses the "Goblin Bloggin'" theme music. Though worth noting, one of the tracks Plinkett's used (in his Phantom Menace review) is a instrumental of Britney Spears' "Toxic".

New Mr. Plinkett review coming.
... and someone change the title to "Red Letter Media".
Jonah FalconYyyeaaahhh I can see how that's annoying when searching for current threads.
What's the new movie?
If I may quote Family guy a moment...
I disagree!
And that's not even counting the plot holes the sequels open up. (seriously, what would the architect have done if Neo didn't resurrect in #1?)
