I don’t mind more characters as long as they don’t take away from Mega Man to do it
Like Proto Man in 9 and 10 having the slide and charge. Get out of here with that nonsense, Capcom
Also make Roll playable again
if anything X8 needed more interactions. It had a few ones scheduled between every couple bosses but needs morrre
Unlocked by having two hunters paired up enough or having a navigator enough
Give me character beats giiiive

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI'd say X8 had the best overall characterization and acting in the series so far. All the protagonists are decently likable, and there's some fun little interactions between all of them and the operators (like Layer's crush on Zero).
I'd really like them to build on that in X9.
Axl's sass in particularly was a highlight.
I also like how he was the Only Sane Man in the party and never takes any of the villains' bullshit.
We all cheered for him when he shot Lumine shut.
I don't care as much about the sprites, but I would dearly love if X9 would feel more like the old SNES games in how you move around, though of course including Zero's satisfying saber physics from X4-6 would also be nice. (I really enjoy the way you kind of "chug" in the air as your blade bites through enemies.)
You know what would be great but probably also bad? MMX spectacle brawler.
RE: the next Mega Man game being either X9 or ZX3:
I think Mega Man X9 needs to come next if only because X8 was 16 years ago while ZX Advent was 13 years ago.
Granted, both games are in the double-digits (who feels old?), but...I think we waited long enough for X9. Make it so.
On a related note, is anyone else all in for considering the Zero (and ZX) series an Alternate Timeline that would've happened if X and Zero didn't save Eurasia?
It just works in a lot of ways since Zero 4 had Zero investigating the ruins of it and Keiji Inafune always thought of X5 as the grand finale to the X series until Capcom intervened...which might've been a good thing since the Zero series sort of made the X series pretty depressing in hindsight.
I think Legends makes everything it precedes depressing
Forever liveblogging the Avengers@Targetmaster Joe My understanding is that X5 was, in fact, originally intended to be the grand finale of the X series, and one of its endings was intended as a set-up for the Zero series. I don't know which one, however.
"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"Megaman X and Zero series are just depresing and grimdark...and I love for it.
Also a X9 if is going to be 2D a least make look like Play station games.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I'm pretty sure X9 is going to be 3D like Mega Man 11.
Excuse me, I want to ask: for Mega Man Zero 4, is "Ragnarok being a Kill Sat" a spoiler or not?
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenzaI think it's established from the very start, but I haven't replayed that one yet.
It’s a spoiler
It being a satellite isn’t revealed until you beat the eight bosses
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSo I suppose I gotta make some changes in the Mega Man Zero page
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenzaNot really. Spoilers have an expiration date and the games are hardly new.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireThe Omega page doesn't do much to hide who he really is.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. For the Omega folder specifically, I think it's fine to have unmarked spoilers.
But even right now, I think it's fine. The fact that he has original Zero's body is well hidden.
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenzaSpeaking of Omega, I’ve had to edit out the misconceptions that Omega is Awakened Zero or in any form of Zero’s mind because like Omega is clearly an AI meant to be loyal to Weil, and not at all loyal to Wily or his original programming to destroy X.
Like Awakened Zero was eerily calm and focused on killing X, Omega is a berserker who believes himself the messiah of Weil.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Wasn't Awakened Zero berserk against Sigma, or is that a different form of Zero?
The Protomen enhanced my life.Technically that’s his base programming before the virus reset him to not evil and Cain installed the suffering circuit.
Like the entire point of the virus was to get Zero under control hence why Wily sealed him away because he was too uncontrollable.
Awakened Zero is Zero purified by the virus and focused on his mission. Pre crystal smash Zero didn’t even talk, even Omega had some form of speech and sentience. And loyal to Weil, Zero would have killed Wily if he wasn't sealed away apparently.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.@Targetmaster Joe The Zero series coming from the timeline where X and Zero failed to stop Eurasia actually makes a lot of sense. Because in that situation X completely forgets about Zero. You could work it that when Dr.Light fixed X and made it impossible for him to remember Zero a lot of the lessons that he learned from Zero were also wiped from X which in turn stunted X's growth and may have even damaged his mind, eventually leading to him becoming Master X.
But X clearly remembers Zero in X6 and that’s also when the Eurasia crashes.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. And X clearly remembers Zero in the Zero games, and the Zero ending of X6 ties into the Zero games.
The games that are in questionable canoncity are X7, X8, and Command Mission.
My headcanon is that they're in an Alternate Continuity where the Zero games don't happen.
The part I liked the most about X8 is that there is actual banter between the characters.
And fun interactions can go a long way into making the characters endearing. In fact I'd as far as to say it's even more important than the characters themselves, as having a cast full of deep and complex people with no chemestry between one another is just a waste.
