Beast @ episode 13:

  • I wonder if the writers came up with the concept of Beyondard when they learned that Baryl and Colonel would be a big part of Battle Network 6 and had to figure out a way to write around the fact that they kinda killed him off in Stream.
  • The Zoanoroids are my favorite of the "-oid" factions. The Enemy Civil War shakes the formula up a bit, the roster dives deeper into the pool in order to either bring back Navis that haven't been seen in a while like Freezeman and Pharaohman, or had yet to appear in the anime at all like Gateman, Darkman, and Punk. Plus the willingness to have doppelgangers leads to amusing stuff like the Wimp Fight between the two Numbermen or Dingo and Mayl ribbing Dex for Zoano Gutsman being stronger and smarter than the original.
  • I don't know if it's an attempt to rein things in after the bloat of Stream, or an effect of only having twenty-five episodes to work with instead of fifty-one, but the pacing is probably the most focused it's ever been in the anime outside of the final arcs. None of the weekly Zoanoroid attacks or schemes are random, they all serve their war effort in one way or another. Then you've also got the mystery of Iris and Trill and why the Zoanoroids want them being drip-fed alongside. Combine that with a tone that mixes the better parts of Axess and the original season and Beast has been fairly refreshing to watch so far.
  • lol at everyone at SciLab being absolutely floored by the idea of Mr. Famous having a girlfriend.
  • Despite the fact that the games themselves finally introduced a way for Navis to appear in the real world by this point the use of Cross Fusion has been dialed back a lot which needless to say is a welcome change.
  • Stream had some pretty good music for Duo, Baryl and Colonel, and Slur while Beast's introduced some awesome battle tracks for Zoanoroids and Megaman Beasting-Out.
  • There's an odd scene at the start of episode twelve that has Iris seemingly being chased through some dark alleys by Colonel that doesn't really make any sense when Lan actually meets Beyondard-Baryl and Colonel. Perhaps that brief Face–Heel Turn Colonel commits towards the end of the season was pushed back a bit?

So far, Beast has been pretty decent, especially coming off of Stream and all of its problems. I recall thinking that the second half of the show, when it decides that it's going to start being Digimon, was weaker, but we shall see.

The only thing I remember about the Battle Network anime was that, at some point, the humans and Navis merged in the real world somehow.

The anime basically did its own thing for the most part, both for better (gives a lot more life to a chunk of the cast, has a much more palatable treatment of Battle Network 4-related material) and for worse (completely ignores most of the game backstory like the existence of Hub Hikari).

There many things from Beast that I really would have liked to see in the games. Beyondard. the Zoanoroids and the beast viruses just to name few.

11 launches on October 2nd.

Turns out the Double Gear system allows Mega Man to slow down time, but puts strain on his body, and was invented by Wily when he was younger.

Wow.

Looks like they've really come up with a way to spice up the gameplay.

I see they once again didn't bother with any female Robot Masters though.

GameXplain got to play the PS4 version of the game for 90 minutes, and the impressions are very positive.

Ash also explains some of the controls for the Double Gear (shoulder buttons) and weapon switching (second control stick).

Oh wow. It looks like Capcom actually put some effort into this game.

Now if only we could get X9 or— No, I won't say it.

The Ruby-Spears cartoon is eerily prophetic at times. In "Showdown at Red Gulch", Wily uses energy from a meteor to power up his robots; soon it leaves them drained and weak, but Mega Man must use the meteor to match their newfound strength in the meantime. In Mega Man 8, Wily uses evil energy from a meteor to power up his robots, and in Mega Man 11 Wily's Double Gear system powers up his robots but takes a toll on their body, and Mega Man must match them by using it himself.

I wonder if we're going to see any info or footage on the new show (without having to fish it off of various licensing websites because the new cartoon has gotten like no advertising) since a new trailer for the game has finally been released.

I was tempted to write "zero advertising".

This looks really good. More exciting than 9 or 10 honestly. The megababble during each attack is silly though.,I get it for bosses because it helps telegraph their attacks but megs doesn't need to shout out his attacks.

Will we have another Femaster?

It's kind of perplexing, isn't it? It'd be the simplest thing in the world - they wouldn't even have to change the designs for most of 'em.

Apparently a female robot master was considered, but her weapon didn't fit with the other robot masters, so she was cut. I hope she makes an appearance in a future Mega Man game.

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.

Yeesh. They sure love coming up with reasons to cut Female Robot Masters huh?

I mean, I guess they don't just want to toss one out haphazardly, but it feels like they keep finding reasons not to do new ones.

I hope half the Robot Masters in the next one are female.

Seriously though, this game looks so dope. I can't wait to get my dirty mitts on it. Definitely springing for that amiibo edition.

Why'd they change Brick Man's name to Block Man, though? Brick Man sounds much cooler and more appropriate. I think video games turned the word "block" into a cliche.

Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
