Learn to read original posts before jumping into forum games. I always do. I know the rules before I compete. You need to learn that.

-the pilot doesn't notice the IR missile at first, but when it is approximately halfway to him he spots it. He tries everything possible to defeat it and (having forgotten about the jammer in his rush) he has difficulty doing so. Eventually he takes a tight turn... and is damaged by the AIM-9, although the building he took the turn around took at least some of the explosive force, preventing the missile from being a one hit kill. Far more cautious now, the Fullback switches on its jammer.-

iTroper, it's that the powers are so obviously beyond anything that a non-supernatural character could fight against. That's why I'm requesting that you either change avatars or leave the game. It's not fair if someone can instantaneously build anything under the sun while all the rest get are weapons that may take two to ten or more hits to destroy just one structure.

Oka Nieba: "Enemy is equipped with jamming capabilities. You'll have to get close and go for a gun kill."

Blaze: "No problem. I doubt he'll shake me."

*Archer and Blaze close in on their prey while Edge prepares to get back into the fight.*

Swordsman: "You alright, Nagase?"

Edge: "I'll make it. Edge, returning to combat formation."

Blaze: "You sure about this? You sounded really worn out just a minute ago."

Edge: "I'll be fine."

*The black F-22s close distance with the Fullback, preparing to engage in gun range.*

I understand. I've changed my avatar AND quit the topic. But I would like you and everyone else to realize I didn't mean to break any rules, and that I made a mistake in skipping over all those posts. Can I please get a word of forgiveness? Or at least an acknowledgement that you don't have to worry about this happening again.

I apologize if I sounded rude. It's just that this was very strictly defined as specifically characters that do not possess powers that are truly massive in scale, and you completely disregarded that. I'm willing to forgive, but please, I don't care who made the forum game, read the first post before making your own post. And if you don't get the rules from that, read some of the ones below it. I always make sure to read at least the last page if it's at least ten posts long, or the last two if the last one isn't at least five long.

That said, as long as you don't have something with Epic-level powers, feel free to join in at any time.

Thank you. And thanks for offering to give me a second chance, but I think I'll keep from pushing it for now. Maybe in a couple days.

-The apprentice materializes, wondering what happened with the phoenixes(I might as well strive for some continuity). He looks up, sits down abruptly, and, hands shaking, starts to cast a shield spell-

Thanks, rallyfan. It doesn't look like wizard boy has much to do besides watch the dogfight(s) at the moment, so I guess he'll just sit and wait for iTroper to come up with an avatar.

@iTroper: the minifig should do fine. Just give us something we can hit, and that can't cause The End of the World as We Know It, and it should be fine.

Artemis 92, I decided to disregard continuity, since in the last one, Nagase was pregnant and Blaze was dead. Hold to it if you like, but I'm not.

*Blaze, with Edge just off his wing again, closes in on the Fullback.*

Oka Nieba: "Bandit in gun range."

Blaze: "I got him in my sights... Firing!" *M61A1 Vulcan Cannon fires* "Hits on his vertical stabilizer!"

Flanker 66, I decided against just killing you with one round of attacks. Again. I hope you appreciate it...

I'm not sure how these guys will last out against actual planes, but I wanted to give it a shot.

Launching from the UNSC carrier Leviathan in low orbit, three C709 Longsword-class heavy fighters enter the atmosphere.

Knife 1: "Knife flight, eyes open. Multiple hostile interceptors confirmed"

The Longswords come around, preparing for an attack on the soviet airbase.

Here's a wiki page about the Longsword. Please ignore the reference to "110mm rotary cannons", Word of God has said that's a horrible typo.

Like I said, Artemis 92, your call. And Flanker 66, I'm sure it can't be that hard. Then again, sometimes, GIS doesn't work too well...

Edge: "Enemy damaged, but still flying!"

Blaze: "I'll try another burst." *lines up and fires again* "That's a hit! His wing's on fire!"

*The Fullback's pilot ejects just after getting clear of the city and back over the water, so as to minimize civilian casualties.*

Archer: "Almost thought he wasn't going to get out."

Blaze: "I thought so too. That would've been a waste of true piloting skill."

Oka Nieba: "New enemies detected on radar. Not a signature that I can recognize. Be careful."

Blaze: "We always are. Razgriz, prepare to engage!"

Holy hell Gaunt. You're late to that party. If you wanted Soviets to shoot at, that was on the first page!

=( I assumed that since they hadn't specifically left, the base would still be there. Bloody time-zones.

Leviathan: "Hold off, Knife. There's an energy shield of unknown strength over the target. Unsure if you ordinance can penetrate."

Knife 2: "Those interceptors are moving to an attack vector! We aren't aquiped for air-to-air."

Knife lead: "They aren't much smaller than Seraphs, and I don't read any shields. Engage with cannons if you have to."

The Longswords break off their attack run, climbing rapidly to meet the incoming F-22s.

Knife 3: "They aren't attacking..."

Knife Leader opens a COM channel. "Unidentified aircraft, this is Flight Luitenant Polaski of the United Nations Space Command, Knife Squadron. Identify please."

Blaze: "We were formerly known as the 108th Tactical Fighter Squadron, aka Wardog Squadron, Osean Air Defense Force."

Archer: "During a war with the Union Of Yuktobanian Republics, we were falsely accused of treason and had to flee our own base on Sand Island."

Edge: "We're now referred to as the Ghosts Of Razgriz, or more formally the Razgriz Tactical Fighter Squadron. I myself am Captain Kei Nagase, callsign 'Edge'. I was once a flight attendant for Air Ixiom, and was rescued from the Eruseans in 2005 by Mobius Squadron, which is what motivated me to join the Air Force."

Swordsman: "I'm Captain Marcus Snow, callsign 'Swordsman', originally of the Osean Maritime Defense Force."

Archer: "I'm Second Lieutenant Hans Grimm, callsign 'Archer'."

Blaze: "And you can just call me Blaze. Only Edge knows my real name."

Oka Nieba: "And I am their Airborne Advanced Warning and Control System aircraft, also capable of providing Electronic Support Measures, callsign 'Oka Nieba', translating to 'Sky Eye'. I am the one who guided Mobius Squadron during the Usean Continental War against the Eruseans."

You remember Gaz, who's real name was never revealed? Well, I'm doing that to Blaze, who will only ever be referred to by callsign.

Gaunt's unit, I think so. Mine, not so much. Oh, and I'm pretty sure they're all piloted, too.

As for the further inquiry about our location, before we started, the Ghosts Of Razgriz were simply patrolling airspace on the East coast of Osea that had yet to see anything more than a few windmills or the odd homestead. Then iTroper showed up and made a city come out of the ground from freaking nowhere.

So it stuck?

-Wizard gets up, realizing there is cover, and dashes into one of the buildings. He hesitates at the stairs, then decides, why not, and heads up to the top, and to a better view(of course, he doesn't take the elevator, not knowing what it is).-

In case you were wondering, the shield spell is still up. It follows him around.
