BlazBlue: General thread.

Dang I was not expecting this. Sweet though.

I'm guessing there will be a final boss for each "campaign" that was mentioned (there were like, 3 of them mentioned, if I remember right), and Izayoi!Tsubaki will be the final boss of the one involving Noel and Makoto.

Oh, I am sensing a sense here. Next up, we're going to have a superpowered Makoto. With even MOAR Fanservice Pack.

...Why?

But yeah, I can see what was said about the Noel scenario having Izabaki as the final boss. And it will probably be Mu versus Izayoi.

And if you haven't guessed, I love portmanteaus.

Talk about a swerve from left field. Then again, when one considers the Izayoi is a prototype Murakumo, or so official sources once suggested, this may have been an inevitability. Ragna broke Terumi's Kusanagi, and over the next month and a half Makoto, Tager and Kokonoe reforged Noel into a Sword of the Azure (with Rachel applying the final touches), so Terumi decided to use that little-known facet of Izayoi for his own smelting of Tsubaki, and with Nu at his disposal he may have Ragna preoccupied.

If I were a betting man, Izayoi will break by the end of Chronophantasma through a combined effort by Jin, Noel and Makoto - Noel (as Mu) damages the unit, Jin shatters the brainwashing, and Makoto reveals the truth to prevent a relapse.

...The Izayoi is a prototype Murakumo? I have never heard this. At most, it was a Ars Armagus that was close to a Nox in power and stole light because.

Seriously, you'd think that would come up. It doesn't even look like the Murakumo (compare Nirvana and Ignis or, heck, Murakumo and Kusanagi.)

I wouldn't mind that whole Mu vs Izayoi thing. Like, the first round would be a quick round where it's Unlimited Izayoi vs Noel, and you do a bit of damage, then cutscene happens. Noel then through some means powers up into Mu, and she goes unlimited mode and then they fight. It'd be like the U!Ragna vs U!Hazama fight at the end of CS, although hopefully a bit more challenging, since U!Ragna just utterly destroys U!Hazama.

Hakumen: Did somebody order a Heroic Sacrifice??

Someone is going to need to form a Social Link with Tsubaki by the time this is over cause she's going to have some major issues to work out of her system.

Pretty sick, looks awesome too. Wasn't expecting that.

I swear at this point every main character is going to have an alternate form of some sort.

Man, so Ragna is actually the Black Beast, Noel is actually Mu-12, Jin is actually Hakumen, Platinum is actually Trinity, Hazama/Terumi is actually one of the Six Heroes, and now Tsubaki actually is Izayoi rather than just using the weapon.

They are really going overboard with supermodes/alter-egos/true forms aren't they?

Don't forget Phantom = Nine.

I'm betting Bang and/or Arakune will get one eventually too. Bang probably due to his nox, and Arakune actually grasping control over his boundary powers.

Well, the Izayoi is clothing. It's the Sealed Soldier's Garb, remember? Or whatever it's called.

Oh, they managed to skank up Tsubaki after all. (kidding) Iza-chan's outfit is classy and regal enough to not be ridiculous or blatant fanservice, so I can't fault her design.

But this does kind of confirm an epic Mu-12 vs. Izayoi confrontation somewhere near the end. I mean, it's so obvious. D:

Oh, but on the subject of Makoto, I can't take any defences for her outfit seriously. It's just so ridiculous and impractical, since it looks like her boobs could spill out really super easily. Also, this entry on her character page kind of bothers me.

Sneak a peek at what, exactly? The flimsy thong that covers almost nothing, itself barely concealed by the even flimsier non-skirt that covers even less? There's no peek-sneaking going on here, it's already all on full display. ._.

Is it just me or is Azrael's hand really gigantic?◊

oh look Bullet has that shiny thighs thingy going on that's in every fanservice animu these days. It's a wonder the series managed to avoid that for two whole games.◊ Actually, her entire sprite there, on further inspection, looks to have some very questionable anatomy THIS STUFF USED TO NOT BOTHER ME why have I become such a prude why why why ;_;

Maybe I just want Blaz Blue to be, y'know, a respectable franchise and not just 2D Dead Or Alive.

Blaz Blue is more than just the character designs...

Its also an awesome fighting game with an amazing story for the genre with good characters, music, art, all set in an interesting world.

But no one likes to to pay attention to that part so I'll shut up.

But when it's got character designs like that, do you think a lot of people will take it seriously? I mean, looking at Bullet and Makoto, one could think that this was just another weird Japanese fanservice fighter.

Like, for instance, Dead or Alive. That series has a plot that no one cares about, since it puts excess emphasis on the T&A. (granted, DOA's plot is a lot less extensive than Blaz Blue's)

Besides...doesn't Makoto make Bullet redundant? Like, not only is Bullet skimpy dressed, but isn't she also a brawler type?

I admit, I have been avoiding recent gameplay videos to not ruin the surprise.

Kinda, they both fit into the same... thingy.

Bullet seems to be more of a Rule 63'd Ragna, though.

I'll be honest, the only of the three completely new characters who interest me is Amane.

No, I don't count Izayoi as a new character like Amane, Bullet and Azrael. She technically is a new character, but she is also Tsubaki.

Bullet seems to be much less mindgame-oriented than Makoto and more speed-based, given what we've seen so far. And last I checked, the latter wasn't part-grappler either.

And I go back to my statement that you people are really being overly hypersensitive about this. They're just pants.^* And that one winning pose as well, granted, but it's not like that's never been done in any other fighting game that just so happened to have females in it before.

I hear that Brainiac wants pants. Soloman Grundy wants pants too.

I have only vanilla CS, so I don't know how Makoto plays. But from what I've seen from gameplay footage, she and Bullet play similarly enough for me to question why we have both. Maybe there is some gameplay thing I'm not seeing/won't become apparent until I get my hands on the game, but yeah.

The only immediately noticeable thing on Bullet that could be construed as simply fanservice is the pants. That's basically it, other than the artist's dumbness over the breast size.
