I don't think a Wo W 2 would fix the problem you are describing because it's not actually a World of Warcraft problem, it's a fundamental problem inherent to fiction itself. Any franchise that develops a fandom of any meaningful size will develop factions within that fandom that are focused on particular aspects of that franchise (be it a character, an organization, or whatever). And these fandom factions will get upset if they feel the writers aren't giving enough positive attention to whatever their chosen aspect of the franchise is.

This isn't a problem that is solvable by any video game because it's rooted in human tribalism, which is a topic far beyond the scope of this thread.

Ah tribalism, bane of Fandoms everywhere.

Figured with the patch coming out in a week I should get around to running the Crucible of Storms on my Horde main to see the Horde's conclusion to the Xal'atath line before the patch drops.

I was curious as to why the Horde character would turn Xal'atath over to Sylvanas of their own violation when thus far the "rebel" side has been the default with the loyalist option layered over top of it. Turns out the player is compelled by a new presence in the dagger to bring it to Sylvanas...who clearly already has a plan for it. The quest text also mentions that her eye's briefly darken when she recives the dagger, which is...totally not ominous at all. And N'Zoth wanted the dagger in the first place to, and I quote, "serve my will".

So uhhh...yeah. Sylvanas has totally made a bargain with N'Zoth. I don't know if she intends to fully honor her side of it, as it could very well be a situation where both N'Zoth and Sylvanas are trying to play each other, but I think it's highly implausible that a bargain hasn't happened.

Patch 8.2 survival guide.

Not being flooded with dislikes as much as some of the recent ones were. Probably helps that 8.2 at least attempts to address many of BfA's problems, and also we are going to freaking Nazjatar.

Certainly, and I'm not going to pretend that the 8.1 survival guides deserved the number of dislikes they got, but I also think, little by little, the consensus on BfA is shifting even if the extremes aren't budging.

Official Patch Notes

After skimming it over, it looks like I missed the fact that BfA professions will now scale to 175 to accommodate the 8.2 rewards. Raising the profession cap in a patch is something I've never even considered as a thing that could be done, but it feels kind of obvious as retrospect. Especially with expansion specific profession tiers

I'm also interested in seeing the Brewfest updates given that the current version is a bit dated. Come to think of it, I don't believe the updated Brewfest ever appeared in the PTR and the patch notes describe the changes as being quite extensive. I wouldn't be surprised if Corin Direbrew is no longer the Brewfest boss, though it looks like there will still be a little Dark Iron fighting.

They're probably gonna be replacing the Horde representative for the Tapping of the Keg, for obvious reasons.

[up] Yes. That's probably another reason why Brewfest was singled out for extensive updates. Come to think of it, with Gelbin out of commission for the time being both faction's keg tappers will be dated this time around.

In other news, Blizzard dropped a comic titled "Mechagon".

It's about a lone Gnomish explorer who found Mechagon on his own sometime before the events of 8.2.

So Season 2 is over. I missed my Keystone master by one damn dungeon... freaking Underrot. I started yesterday with 3 Dungeons missing but got lucky and immediately got two perfect groups for Siege and Waycrest +15, but it turned out that the PUG gods were just yanking my chain. What followed were 6 groups from the far reaches of hell:

1. Knew absolutely nothing of the dungeon and died 15 times on the way to the first boss and wiped twice on it because no one was kicking anything.

2. The tank we first had left before we started, the group leader had the glorious idea to fill in a Russian 408 warrior, who's route we couldn't import(I assume because of cyrillic script). He immedietly pulled the entire first room which caught me off guard and he then died to the ticks which he didn't even attempt to evade by jumping. Then he invis potioned the big mask before the first boss, which he told no one about and then left the group when one party member started to do a corpse run instead because he had no potion.

3 + 4 Pretty much the same as the first group

5. A somewhat decent group but for some reason I struggled to keep everyone topped. Eventually I realized that my item-set management bugged out and didn't equip my main-hand weapon, so I was healing the whole run with an itemlevel of 390. After I died shortly before the final boss I quickly ran out of the dungeon and changed to my proper equip, we still had 4 minutes which meant we could make it... and then I added a worm in my hurry (It was already 1 a.m.). Missed the timer by 50 seconds.

At this point there were no more 15 group open and I gave up, but since I only had a 9 in time for Underrot I didn't even have Keystone Conqueror, so I figured I do a quick easy +10 to at least get that... which lead to

6. Had a strong rouge but meh DPS otherwise, but for some reason our shadow priest kept dying... a lot. And it was always a oneshot. Eventually I checked him out a little closer and...he had 70k HP...WHAT...He had an itemlevel of 280 equipped... 70 MEGAWHAT!

After this I at last got an average group and did an easy +10 with +2.

I guess its my just desert for slacking on doing keys with my guild.

I've completed the Nazjatar storylines on both my Alliance and Horde mains up to the step where you need to get a bodyguard up to rank 3 (which takes two days worth of dailies apparently, though some people have apparently managed to get around that), plus the Mechagon intro stories on my Alliance main.

I do kind of feel like the story is a bit awkwardly paced at the moment. The Nazjatar storyline should of run a bit further before the first progression gate since thus far I've seen a lot of pieces without many of them fitting together.

Now, while I have liked what I've seen overall, I will say that one part that I absolutely love are the Unshackled. To the point where I've started to really warm up to the idea of a Gilblin Allied Race.

One of the main points against the Gilblins is that in the past they haven't really been presented as an actual society. Basically all the greed of goblins except underwater with half the intelligence and none of the advanced tech.

But the Gilblins of Nazjatar render all of these issues moot. They have a society now, the Unshackled. This society being based on mutual survival, which means Unshackled Gilblins aren't full of greed and are actually quite generous with their friends. They have a leader in Neri Sharpfin. They even have a patron diety, Graal.note

All those ingredients blended together, and you got an Allied Race more viable then some of the actual Allied Races we've already gotten.

My biggest problem questing in the new zones is the absurd Horde to Alliance ratio in War Mode, to the point where it's all but impossible. Not sure if this is due to imbalances in participation, but it's very frustrating. There is plenty of content to get started with, so I'm not at all disappointed.

[up] Yeah, some of my guild members were talking about how crazy it was in War Mode. Things were kind of balancing out (it had been awhile since the "Against All Odds" quest was up) before the patch, but the release may of thrown it back into crazy mode.

Kind of wonder if many of the Alliance players who were coaxed into turning it on due to the added incentives nonetheless still prefer to experience new content without it.

I tried to do the zone control event in Nazjatar and every single control point was held by Horde. No Alliance in sight. I don't know how that's even possible.

I started the patch late and haven't gotten far, but I already felt a bit of content overload after doing the intros to Nazjatar and Mechagon. Will have to take it slowly I feel.

I mainly play Alliance, and I like the feel of the samurai fish people, the Ankoan, but I hear from my Horde friends the Gilgoblins are a pretty nice lot as well.

On Mechagon, I am not sure if I want to trust Tinkmaster Overspark with any sort of responsibility. He's not particularly caring for the consequences of the people around him and very assured of his own importance. It was nice to see the gnome-goblin couple from Before the Storm. And the goblin having to disguise himself to accompany the expedition.

[up] That is a pretty funny quest. And I agree: Overspark is a bit of a jerk. He's up against Gazlowe however, so they can have a competitive jerk-off... that came out wrong.

From what I hear, Gazlowe's at least pretty nice for a goblin. Now if it had been Gallywix, there'd be no contest in the jerk department.

Yeah, Gazlowe's actually decent. If nothing else he has you help the goblin/gnome couple from the pre expansion book go into hiding against Gallywix's wishes.
