Yeah, I actually said on my personal Facebook profile, it would give me more time to make that multi-campaign Let's Play Series.
And that would include No Rest For The Living from the 360 port of Doom II.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Be sure to hump walls in OG Doom games. Hump walls, trigger switches and pass by triggers that open stuff.
Doom's crafty like that with its secrets and whatnot.
Okay this might be a wackjy question for y'all but which old ports of Doom and Doom 2 (up to the classic X Box ports) were you lot most impressed by and which left you disappointed? Personally I have a slights oft spot for SNES Doom since evn tho its shoddy as fuck, unlike most other console ports it actually made the herculean effort of keeping all the original 3 episodes and their levels in and kept the Cyberdemon and Spider Mastermind and the proper Phobos Anomaly level.
Most disappointing was the GBA one. I remember being really excited for it as a kid and with how surprisingly buff the GBA could be, Doom coulda been done justice. Instead they just went "can i get a fuckin uhhhhhhhh jaguar doom wad"
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowI'm afraid I can't answer that MK, for I never had consoles in 90s.
So, anyone wondered what Doom + Diablo would be like? We get... Doomiablo!
I love these fan projects when they bring Doom to totally different genres. I am usually not fond of turn based games (I like being free) but Doom RL is something I'd damn well would love to try someday.
While Doomiablo is nice, I am not sure if the whole "stand to attack and be unable to attack while moving" is fitting but it can work. I'd like Doom in vein of Alien Shooter just way better done.
So I watched LPs of Doom 3 and the new one due to being in a Halloween-y mood; they both look really cool. My biggest surprise, well... Doom was about the last place I'd expect to find biting social satire, but lo and behold, Doom 2016 features a giant faceless megacorp, run by a guy that literally has no face (wonder if that was intentional) that values people only in how "productive" they are and, upon discovering that Hell exists, their first thought is to invade it and pillage its natural resources.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."And DOOM Eternal follows that up nicely with consequences of Hayden's actions, as well intentioned he is. He even ended up badly damaged as a result of his actions.
Speaking of Halloween, any good Doom Halloween wad? Something not low effort but decent effortat least.

IIRC Doom 2016 is really vague about whether the hell dimension is actually literally Hell, of human afterlife fame.
What do you mean it's vague? Hell has always been Hell, nothing vague.
Or are you talking about realms demons conquered and defiled?
Also I wish fans took the announcement of delay better. While I wouldn't ever compared id to Ubisoft, when I look at delay, I immediately looked at Ghost Recon Breakpoint game and how atrociously buggy and unpolished it is. I do not want the same thing for Doom Eternal and I am so fucking glad and relieved it got pushed 4 months later.

I'd be bummed, but hopeful under normal circumstances, but considering this is Bethesda we're dealing with...
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterA lot of fans actually took the delay really well and gave id their support. At least, if Twitter and Facebook are any indication.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...I also enjoy a lot of fanart of Doomguy showing him as a lovable goofball when he's not in his perpetual MURDER DEMON RAGE mode.
I wish there was a WAD or a sequence in Doom Eternal where you get to play as... -inhales- Daisy!
I am surprised nobody attempted a Daisy themed mod where you play as Daisy.
No, it was pretty clearly literally Hell. They didn't say "this is the Christian afterlife," but it's referred to as Hell, the residents are referred to as demons, they torture souls, so on and so on. I think the only vague part was whether souls go there naturally, or if it's only ever the result of demonic deals.
Oh guys...
check this out!
So it's a pre-order & deluxe edition trailer. So Tyrants will be apparently recurring minibosses because you can see bunch of them in trailer...
Anyone want a quick rundown of everything that's been revealed for Doom Eternal?
Well, here you go:
Yeah it's a good catch-up.
Okay this has been on my mind ever since August 2018: how is DS's shoulder flamer effective against demons?
Aren't demons fireproof or just resistant?
You know, I love me a good consequentialism vs. deontology debate, which also wasn't something I expected to find in freaking Doom. Are there any fans that take Hayden's side, I wonder?
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."You can almost sympathize with his motivations — solving an energy crisis for humanity — but his means are atrocious and dangerous and idiotic. Fracking hell? And even when confronted with evidence of how horribly it backfires, he refuses to reconsider.
Don't mess with Fire and Brimstone Hell.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI'm getting Dead Space flashbacks.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.I think my favorite part of the "tap Hell like an oil well" plot was that it worked. Argent energy is genuinely awesome and has no downsides. The problem is that Hell energy is easier to get and has lots of downsides even before the whole "sell the souls of everyone you can get your hands on into slavery forever" thing.
So you can see why Hayden would think that if he can just try again, if he can just keep the cultists out of it, this time he'll get it right. Except he's wrong, because the demons will find a way to get involved somehow.
And it is part of game's fluff, humanity not only ran out of oil but other stuff like uranium and plutonium iirc. Was it plutonium and uranium?
Solar energy alone can't solve those two irl, right? Argent energy seems to be able to power everything necessary.
Hayden did have everything under control but it was Olivia that became corrupted. I think it has to do with her refusal to treat her chronic pains, since Hayden cyborg..ified himself to stop the brain cancer.
But as you said Discar, demons will always find another way.
The demons will always find someone greedy, selfish, and/or desperate enough to be receptive to their offers. It's how they got to Argent D'Nur, and it's how they got to humanity.
Disgusted, but not surprisedSo, basically as far as Argent Energy is concerned, Failure Is the Only Option.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...You'd probably have to kill every last demon first. And even then, the nature of Hell might mean that more demons just keep respawning.
Disgusted, but not surprised
The wait continues, my slayer brothers and sisters.
There's plenty of time to indulge in other games and the classic game's maps and mods.
I do wish Doom 3 had more quality mods, like Half-Life 2 does. I can't think of anything else besides Phobos (which I'm a bit meh about).
I remember bunch of ambitious mods that went nowhere
I took the news of delay extremely well, which surprised me. I was taken back when I first heard but my mind ultimately settled with "meh". I still want to see everything DOOM Eternal has to offer so badly but if I could wait from 2007 to 2016 for Doom reboot, I can for this. It's just some 4 months to go.
