I'd also add The Salvation War, but it also involves Heaven in the equation.
I didn't read it, but it's interesting
I'm playing the Switch version of Doom 2016, and has anybody else run into this glitch where certain data logs will always be marked as new, no matter how many times you read them? Specifically the entries for Titan's Realm, The Necropolis, and Argent D'Nur. Every time I start up the game they are marked as new, even though nothing has changed.
It's hardly a major issue, but it's still annoying.
Yeah, I saw that on the X1 version.
BTW Doom 2 has a new add-on, BTSX 1.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowcrossposting from the Devil May Cry thread but:
Dante with the Crucible Sword is badass. The mod also contains the sword used by Night Sentinels and the Marauder's argent battleaxe
Hmm, Dante vs. the Doom Monsters. I'd pay to see that.
I like to keep my audience riveted.I'd like an SFM where Doomguy and Dante take on the Icon
As long as we're posting random and awesome videos I recently discovered this.
Big Isabelle energy there.
Bleye knows Sabers.PARTY IMPOSSIBLE.
Wooooow. She's just plain mega cute.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowThe adventures of Inugami Korono continue into Doom 2016.
The chainsaw is still her favorite.
I hope that the entire streams get translated someday instead of just these highlight reels...
Bleye knows Sabers.Uh, I need help. I made a page for my favorite Doom mod here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/Hunters_Moon. Why am I not just using the Wiki Word? Because it's simply not working as seen in the Doom fanworks page, and I cannot for the life of me find another proper place to ask for this help or a FAQ that solves it.

You cannot have underscores in a wiki article title.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Huh, what exactly doesn't work? Creating a page at Hunter's Moon? Linking it?
Is the underscore an important stylistic part of the title? You can add it through this tool.

Well shit. I have to delete somehow the page now, and copypaste it with a no underscores title. For now I'll have to just create another. Is it impossible to flag the old one? There's apparently a book also called Hunter's Moon, so I imagine Trivia and YMMV might also have to be split up if I later want to (which I probably will, considering the wildly differing reception and the trivia tropes that it has). This is the correct page: Hunter's Moon This is the page to delete: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/Hunters_Moon

Put the old page on the Cut List.
Thank you very much.
So around today or so, the source code for Doom's old SNES port got released. Now who wants a really nerdy video about it by Modern Vintage Gamer?
So, I've been playing some more Doom Eternal to pick up season collectibles — seriously, this is what they have in place of Arcade Mode? Come on, guys.
Anyway, it seems that the June update added a fun bug where the game will CTD instantly upon leaving a Slayer Gate. On PC, at least, I can load back in and I'll be right at the key, ready to pick it up, but I've read on some other forums that console players aren't so lucky, occasionally losing large amounts of progress.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Okay. I took a break for several months because other stuff came up plus pandemic and whatnot, but I finally beat the game today. Got every album, cheat, and Codex page. I really liked this, even more than the original, increased difficulty nonwithstanding. The Icon of Sin fight was kind of disappointing (I really wanted to fight the Icon using one of the Sentinel mechs and instead I get frantically fighting off mobs while the Icon tries to smash me like a bug on a windshield) but suitably epic regardless.
I can't wait for the single-player DLC, whenever that comes.

That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I wasn't thrilled with the Icon fight because it doesn't really pose that much of a threat by itself. The problem is the unending swarm of demons it summons that distract you enough to miss its fist slamming down and punting you off the map. It's an endurance test more than a skills test. You get infinite Blood Punch and Crucible ammo, but killing things with them is just busywork. It's epic but not particularly fun.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Hence why a giant kaiju fight between the Icon and the Slayer in an Argenta mech would have been way better.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I did think it was quite the shame for all those Argenta mechs to be lying around and never get the opportunity to pilot one. Missed opportunity. That said, having to use a completely different set of controls and abilities for a final boss fight is a whole other kind of dickishness for a game to pull.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"TBF, it's also kind of a callback to the original Icon of Sin fight from the classic series. That "fight" also had the primary threat being a bunch of summoned foes.
Also, what said. Switching mechanics for a Final Boss is some bullshit.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThinking about it, the mythos of the Doom Slayer is that he doesn't need fancy mechs and other toys to kill demons. He'll tear them apart with his bare hands if he has to. It would be incongruous for him to even think about using one, and the environment design for the game (as well as the lore) emphasizes that the Argenta are a crumbling empire. All its toys are broken and decaying, its cities crumbling. It no longer has the will to fight the demons, and Heaven is just sitting back letting things get worse lest its source of energy be threatened.
Those mechs are relics of the past. Like their Titan foes, they're part of the landscape now. They're reminders of a bygone age, never to be piloted again.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
A good amount of Warhammer 40k is exactly that.
