Zelda is a princess. And evidently feels stifled by that status a bit.

Breath of the Wild Zelda had a somewhat strained relationship with the King regarding her role in the whole thing, as depicted in flashbacks.
In particular, her magic (which she was fated to use to seal away Ganon when the time came) was underdeveloped (that is, it didn't manifest at all until the very last second), which her father brushed off as "you're not trying hard enough, and are too distracted by those other pursuits you actually care about".

The kicker is in the journal that the King left in his study in Hyrule Castle. He understood that he was being hard on her, and was just trying to do what he thought was best for the kingdom. His last journal entry (before Calamity Ganon's return) stated that, if she came back from her last pilgrimage empty-handed as well, then he would change his approach and speak more kindly with her.
Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805While I haven't reached that point in the game yet, I read about it in the BOTW page on This Very Wiki.
It's rather sad when you think about it. [[spoiler: It makes you wonder if it happened this way just to deny the two a proper reconciliation. Or that Ganon is just a good photgrapher.
I totally want to see who gets that joke.
One Strip! One Strip!Counterproductive. You can un-equip their weapons, but in some games they'll just re-equip them as soon as they get attacked.
Yeah you have to actually take them away. I usually trade up for a couple healbags.

I don't actually have this problem because I'm an overachiever. <.<
The game's all, "You JUST have to stop them from breaking through for 12 turns," and I'm all, "What, and let all that valuable XP go to waste? You don't have a grinding mechanic, game. I NEED THEIR PRECIOUS BLOOD."
My guiding philosophy in siege defenses is that the enemy forces can't break through if they're all dead.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.A joke that only makes sense if you've played Fire Emblem, but a damn good one all the same. Love that face of desperation Hector makes as he strangles that one mook.
Murdering an entire conga line of mooks is fun and all, but that chip damage sure adds up after six or so. It gets to the point where you actually thank god when one actually manages to survive so you can finally put a heal on Hector.
It's even worse when you make the questionable decision to use Guy or Matthew for dodge tanking, thinking "oh, just how often can they crit in a single turn?" Turns out it's quite often.
Mhm. The problem here isn't 'I'm killing these mooks pointlessly', it's 'gah, his counterattacks keep freeing up the spot on the map for more mooks to come and attack him, and my strategy hinged on him only being forced to take one or two attacks.'
That sort of thing gets reeeeally troublesome on the higher difficulties in some of the games in the series. Lunatic Conquest requires planning every damn move.

Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youNot that I know of, I've only seen her use guns and drones. note The only characters I've seen throwing explosives so far are DK (with the explosive cover) and Rabbid Cranky (grenade launcher).

Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Okay, the joke itself was already really good, but Katie really went the extra mile to sell the gag with her art. Great way to start a monday.
Especially that second panel. That's just greatness.

That map where you recruit Nino and Jaffar is one of the most memorable stages in Fire Emblem. It just piles of unfair bullshit piled against you.
To start, it is Fog of War map, which hides a horde of enemies, including a mini boss. It is also a Escort Mission, which would bad enough by itself, with the added injury that the guy you need to protect is in the other side of the map, close to the enemies. And if you want to recruit new character you have to protect two extra people who are scattered around, in the thick of the action. On top of all that, the boss has a dangerous long range attack that is hard to avoid due the aforementioned Fog of War. And just to fuck with you, there are also thief enemies that go and try to steel your loot (including the very valuable Boots) and run away.
So the end result is that you feel pressured to throw caution to the wind (always dangerous in Fire Emblem) and sprint through unknown enemies lighting bolts and a surprise mini boss close to your start to get close to the people you want to protect, while praying they don't die in the meantime(RNG dependant). Protect the three people you want to and talk to all of them. Then you need to go and chase the thieves if you want loot and, finally, if you want the sweet experience, you need to go and face the actual boss in a time limit.
It is utter madness and it is likely you are meant to abandon most of the secondary goalsnote the first time you try to go through it, though, of course, many players wouldn't be satisfied with that. It is completely absurd, but I guess it made it one of my favorite maps in the end.
Silent Princess.
The first time I read this flower's info, I assumed that it was a direct reference to Zelda, that it had only gained that name and/or that symbolism after she was sealed away. But then in flashbacks it turns out that no, it's always been like that, which does make it a weird coincidence.
