These writers aren't that clever. It's played completely straight and looks like it.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Here a list of changes from VIIR
Enhanced combat with countering and an AP system.
Drastically improved graphics. It finally looks like a current-gen game! (Too bad they're probably going to abandon this engine in favor of Unreal for future titles).
other party members follow you in dungeons.
Every character can now walk and has a walking animation.
Sprinting where you move twice as fast. Also a stamina meter, but it's possible to get unlimited sprint. (There is no new sprinting animation, the speed of your running animation is based on how fast you're moving, so if you are sprinting or drink an energy drink in Neplunker you will play a really fast standard running animation).
Hair physics. Jumping is even funner now.
Inverse kinematics on the legs of the characters. So when you're standing on an uneven surface your knees and feet will bend to reflect that.
New Tales-like loot system where most battles will give you 1-2 new weapons or armors.
Equipment now has rarity levels. Rare(green), Super Rare(purple), and Ultra Rare(Gold).
Equipment now has a rank. The higher the rank, the stronger the equipment will be.
Equipment now has random stats and effects, instead of there being like 10 named weapons for each character.
Equipment can be upgraded 10 times haha.
There is an inventory cap of 1,000 and it only applies to equipment. (There are 9 DL Cs that increase the cap by 1,000 and they all cost $1).
Every single cosmetic and equipment item now have a unique 2D image for an icon, rather then Accessories for example all having the same item icon. (A witch hat is a witch hat, and the D-clips look like D-clips.)
The game now runs at 30 FPS but when no 3D is being rendered will run at 60 FPS.
Moving foliage in some dungeons.
orgasmic menu navigation sounds, and characters don't yell at you every single time you pause the game.
Redesigned HUD that will make you cream.
No DLC characters. (God eater, Nitroplus, Million Arthur, Umio, Nepgya).
Only one save slot :( (However, Cyberdimension for ps4 only had one save slot but the PC version had 15).
No new game plus :(
Only one ending :( (The True Ending).
Outfits like the night wear, swimsuits and all outfits that were previously DLC are in the base game. The Kurome outfit should also be obtainable in the Western release this time.
Manual allocation of stat points (You don't have to manually add each point. It gives you some automatically for leveling and then you get BP (Bonus Points) to add manually).
After you do the hidden treasure challenges in a dungeon you unlock the rank challenge for that dungeon. It's a mode where you are tasked to kill a target monster in that dungeon.
Rush mode for the colliseum where you do multiple battles without resting.
The Player Room and Goddess events obviously.
The number of Credits you have is now drawn with commas so you can actually read the amount of money you have past 999999. (This alone is worth buying the game over).
Neptune, Noire, Blanc, and Vert have higher poly character models. This might be the case for all characters but they could have only redone the VR event characters. They probably did everyone though. Idk.
You can buy the Cyberdimension weapons as DLC. Don't know if they're OP or not.
Level cap increase is no longer DLC. By default the max level is 999.
From what I've seen a game over results in you only having to redo the battle you died in. The game autosaves after every battle.
Autosaves.
For Christ knows why you get fully healed at the end of every battle.
You now unlock skills with Credits. Some skills cost 100,000+ Credits. Very strange idea.
New skill animations for some skills. Every formation skill now has a unique animation instead of some of them just being single explosions.
For some reason you can sell items anywhere you are.
A new 3D cutscene somewhere in the first chapter.
A new CG when meeting Kurome.
You no longer randomly encounter enemies on the world map.
Bounties where you have to kill specific powerful monsters with high reward.
A couple new OS Ts like the Player Room theme and Steamax's theme.
EXPLOSION WITCH HYPERDIMENSIONAL HYPEDamn, that looks extensive, and a straight upgrade in most respects.
Looking forward to the PC release. For once, I'm waiting instead of jumping at the PS 4 version in hopes that the VR support is kept. I have a Rift, but not a PSVR.
It looks like a massive downgrade to me
No DLC characters, no new game +, no multiple endings , only one CG and one new cutscene
and the VR events reeks of self-insert to me
Between this and RB 1+ im really losing hope towards CH
EXPLOSION WITCH HYPERDIMENSIONAL HYPEI don't have any VR devices so I couldn't really care on that front.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."You can still see the VR events withouth VR devices
EXPLOSION WITCH HYPERDIMENSIONAL HYPEWhy even have the VR then? Shit feels like a waste.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Speaking of Megami Tsuushin, anywhere I can download the latest chapter? I like to read it offline...
^ Eh, it's like why would you make Star Trek: Bridge Crew playable without VR...because most people doesn't have VR. Using it gives immersion, so there's that, still...

Give me cute or give me...something?For the first 11 chapters and chapter 7,5 of the Volume 3, look for Pudding Heart Translations
For chapter 12 onwards, r/gamindustri is where they are being translated
EXPLOSION WITCH HYPERDIMENSIONAL HYPEAlso Noire's new VA has redone all her lines for the remake. Can't say they didn't put in the effort there, if nothing else.
"No will to break."Xander, you posted a full list that's primarily additions and improvements, then cherrypicked the little stuff that was removed and are acting like VR is the only major addition.
All the changes to the combat and presentation are significantly more substantial. From what you described, the game plays VERY differently now.
I see the removal of the Multiple Endings as a straight upgrade. This isn't mk2/Re;Birth2 - almost nobody will miss the endings in this one.
And I doubt the lack of New Game Plus will hurt many people. There was actually a thread on this at /r/JRPG recently - few people actually replay longer games. And if you pair that together with the old statistic on how few people finish games they start...
But 30 FPS, loss of DLC characters and only one save slot are annoying downgrades.

I mean, that just sounds like standard practice.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."How does removing endings is an updrage? all of the main Neptunia games (along with Hyperdevotion and SHG) have multiple endings, so why does this one has to be an exception
Many JRP Gs have multiple endings, removing them is just dowringht criminal, regardless of how tedious they are to get them
Besides, this is Compile Heart, they are well know for their irritating ending requirements
Im not going to argue about this, since im that part of the fandom that feels this is wrong, but the majority seems to be completely okay with it

EXPLOSION WITCH HYPERDIMENSIONAL HYPEYou kinda defeated your own point here. Modern Sonic games are "known" for having poor stories; doesn't mean it should remain that way.
I shouldn't have to explain why being known for possessing a negative quality isn't a good thing.

To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."I dont know, I just cant personally find this to be the right thing to do, if they have problem with their ending requirements, why dont just fix them instead of removing it, If I recall V/RB 3 endings reqs where more lenient compared to RB 2, and, in comparison to other of their games they re far more easy to obtain
Why dont do something like, Fairy Fencer (Excluding the pulling out fairies part), where depending of a of your at certain point of the game you get a different ending? rather than relying in gimmicks (shares)
EXPLOSION WITCH HYPERDIMENSIONAL HYPEI can agree with making it a more explicit choice.
But I also have to stand firm on single-ending being superior to previous solution.
Endings based on logical conclusion of actions (see: Atelier) > explicit choice > one ending > multiple endings with obscure and unexplained requirements

So the new upcoming Neptunia spinoff is coming to Switch
"Leftover items still have value!"Still waiting for it to come to PC tho...will probably be later than console versions as usual.

Give me cute or give me...something?Considering the Switch release, it has me wondering if the name chnage was deliberate as a reference to Super Mario RPG.

I thought that was pretty obvious. Not even because it's on the Switch, but because Neptunia is Video Game References: the Franchise.

To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Poor Vert isn't getting any love.
Anyway, i'll probably get the new game on Noire.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Sorry for butting in, but are there people here who knows the Neverland franchise (Also made by Idea Factory)?
Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...
I love when non-serious stuff become serious all of a sudden, so the sudden shift in tone was appreciated
If only we could have something akin of Fairy Fencer or Death:Re in terms of seriousuness
