Secret SignatureI keep thinking of petrify as a status effect similar to frozen. ;-;"
Just easier to break free from, like using Fighting-type moves or something.
I recently hatched a shiny Volbeat while playing Brilliant Diamond, and I found the coloration to match Illumise so well I decided to give him (her?) the nickname "Illumise".
I for one would like to finally get a Tiger-like Pokemon. And no, I don't count Arcanine or Raikou as Tigers
Maybe an Electric/Psychic Type, one that hypnotizes it's prey with it's stripe pattern and then grills it with it's electric fangs.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianWe do have Incineroar. I recall concept art confirming it was based on a tiger or something, though I have to double-check.
Did you forget about my boy luxray?
see my completed Tangled (Varian) fanfic collection! https://archiveofourown.org/works/24467056/chapters/59049532Luxray isn't a Tiger. It's more a Lynx, or Lion.
Incineroar is the closest so far it seems.
One Strip! One Strip!
I mean... you can't count Arcanine to begin with, as it's actually a very large fire dog. Hell, it's right there in its name!
"That we continue to persist at all is a testament to our faith in one another."Arcanine is a Shisa, so the feline part is more lion than tiger, really.
Wake me up at your own risk.Wanted to play Pokemon, but with more variety than normal, so I'm playing Sacred Gold. Turns out I do still like Pokemon. Just needs a good variety early on, a decent level of difficulty, and less time on uninteresting exploration.
I've always thought of the Elekid line as tigers, mostly Electabuzz and Electivire.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.Electabuzz is apparently based on an oni, which isn't uncommon to be depicted wearing tiger skin as clothing. The lightning-based power is also something that's somewhat often associated with oni.
BTW today I learned Moltres is the only one of the the original legendary birds to never win a tournament?
Since Articuno won one a few weeks ago. And showed why Ice is a fantastic offensive typing.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."as much as i love articuno taking the win (and that im seriously considering making a similar team to the champion now), i think the context of articuno winning is very important
it was a surprise pick in a mostly stale format, a lot of its checks and counters from earlier in the season were seeing lower and lower usage, and it's strength comes from, ironically, Ice's defensive utility rather than offensive.
Snow boosting defense by 50% is fantastic for articuno, especially since it's got a defensive statline and base 100 Defense. snow cloak means that it has a 20% (iirc) chance for moves to miss it entirely, meaning it gets more blizzards (or sheer colds!) off and sticks around longer. and, aurora veil from it's partner A-Ninetales means that it's incredibly tanky in spite of it's ice typing, in a lot of circumstances.
Ice is an incredible offensive type, but Articuno's special attack is lacking (especially compared to other heavy hitters) and the only reason it was able to do any damage is due to Blizzard's high base power, choice specs, and tera ice all boosting it's damage output. and even then it had to rely on the inconsistent OHKO move Sheer Cold for some defensive pokemon anyways.
but yeah, i think it's much funnier to highlight Articuno highlighting how defensive the ice type is, that's a twist

Secret SignatureSo... anyone want a spare shiny Volbeat from Brilliant Diamond? I somehow managed to hatch a second one.

Breaking news. Relic Castle, a notable fan forum for PokΓ©mon fan creations got Screwed by the Lawyers, big time.
That was the place where I got a sweet-ass PokΓ©mon Black 2 and White 2 bitmap font and the best Gen 5 font to have ever existed.

New theme music also a boxI've brought this up before (kind of) but I've been thinking about signature moves.
So I want to ask, if you had a choice between a Pokemon's signature move and a stronger attack, which would you choose?
Even when I know that there are stronger attacks than the signature, (or said signature works out a weaker stat), I'd always go for it myself. It may not be optimal, but it doesn't feel right for the mon to not have it.
So like, Sceptile's getting Leaf Blade, even if he should be rocking Leaf Storm or something else working off his special attack.
One Strip! One Strip!Depends on the Mon and the move.
Like fir example. Meloetta. I will use relic song regardless (esp since it's the only way to change forms), but I will not deny it's suboptimal in most respects (type wise and in that a special move on a phys sweeper is a poor fit)
That's why for Meloetta I always run a mixed build.
As for the question, yeah, I always give my Pokemon their signature move, feels wrong to not do that.
(Also, Sceptile can run a mixed set or a fully physical set anyway, so nothing wrong with giving it Leaf Blade )

I will only forego a signature move if it's a move that is hot garbage. Spicy Extract is the only one that comes to mind.

I saw "water" and "medusa", and my first thought was why a jellyfish would also have a Grass type. But Petrify sounds like a neat idea.
