Staraptor is one of my favorite mons, glad it's still powerful despite the power creep lol.

Being BL for the entirety of its existence is funny though. Too unstable for OU but too powerful for UU, that's not even a problem itself.

It's one of the few mons to be to be good in competitive and in-game.

Starraptor nearly unseated Pidegeot as my favourite (Pidgeotto fight against Team Rocket way back in episode 3 of the anime was my first battle, and I always kinda liked him even though he lost that one). His evolution into Pidgeot was sweet, and it irked me that he got immediately put on a bus for it.

Starraptor is better though, and he's viable in game as well. He's high up there on my fav birds list.

Not only does he look awesome especially compared to his rather dorky prevos, but the first thing he learns to do is beat the crap outta people with close combat. Moment I saw that I knew right there that Staraptor was a beast.

Yeah, when I first played Platinum I had a Staraptor and I was rather impressed by how effective it was, given the mediocrity of the Normal/Flying mons before him.

Fearow had always been decent as a mini Dodrio; Drill Peck was nice.

Also, I honestly expected him to be low tier because Power Creep , never expect him to be such a powerful mon even to this day

For the record, what the fuck does GF expect us to do with Unfezant? A goddamn Sky Attack specialist?

Pity I was away from Pokémon back in Gen IV; never really took the time to breed or raise a Staraptor for battle. Hopefully this changes if/when the DP remakes come out.

As for the other birds, I came back exactly when Talonflame was a big deal. I even have a shiny one, but decided to keep it in ORAS, where it can still shine without the nerf on Gale Wings.

I hope the Sinnoh remakes use the Platinum encounter tables; I want to pull Luxray and Houndoom back to back, and, at least for once, go with Empoleon.

Platinum dex for wild Pokemon and for enemy teams, please.

No nonsense like Flint's "fire" team of Rapidash, Steelix, Drifblim, Lopunny, and Infernape.

Swellow's probably one of the most amusing Pokemon competitive history wise. Sure it looks like an attacker, but that formerly 50 Sp A is apparently still useful!

And include a Manaphy egg, Member Card, and Oak's Letter as in-game items as well, right?

Make them similar to the ORAS Eon Ticket.

The birds are quite similar, if you ask me...

For the record, Noctowl and Swellow used to have the same stat total as Fearow and Pelipper, respectively.

You mean the limited-distribution you have to get from other people via Streetpass? Hell no.

If they're not available in the base game, then doing a free update some time after release would be cool too. Time-gated event.

Fire Emblem Awakening had a damn fine approach to that kind of stuff. The endgame paralogues are the way Pokemon should handle mythicals.

Leave the movie tieins to special versions of those mythicals. With the signature moves of other legendaries and the like.

Free, indefinitely available to everyone with an internet connection, and doesn't require you attend an event or movie or anything. But released some time after the game's launch. That'd be a perfectly-acceptable way to do Mythicals while retaining their unique charm.

That reminds me, remakes of Black and White should probably have Victini and Keldeo available in the post-game while remakes of Black 2 and White 2 can have Genesect and Meloetta available in their post-game.

I don't know what you're talking about, and in all honesty I have nothing nice to say about Pokemon Go and that's all I will say on the matter.

They won't remake Black and White for a loooong time yet I think

"Forever available to anyone with an internet connection" implies that the servers will be up forever. See Dragon Quest IX for how that tends to work out. Gen VII had the right idea: a given server will fade away but information never does; the QR code that needs to be scanned to get Magearna is hosted on a bunch of different sites, and will presumably be hosted on any future sites that pop up to replace them if need be. A shame the other Mythicals were business as usual.

Or there's the Meltan approach. Manaphy could be handled that way, given the original connection to Pokemon Ranger (unless we actually do get another Ranger game, which would be amazing though I struggle to think how it would work on Switch), but Go is a free smartphone game, and do you guys not have phones?

This reminds me of when I was just chilling in the airplane and decided to play my ORAS for a while. Then I ended up Streetpassing a dude and BAM! Game tells me about the Eon Ticket.

It was awesome, but I wouldn't count on having this luck if they ever do it again. So yeah, probably not a good idea.

At least three of the Gen IV mythicals are obtainable by a glitch that's fairly straightforward to pull off if you're careful. Doesn't even take two hours to get to them anymore.
