Alright, who nominated claptrap?
Live forever or die trying.GO THE BOSS!
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Doesn't matter who wins this one too much; I doubt either can expect to beat the cube.
Aw damn, Ganon beat Mewtwo. Not sure who to vote for between Ken and Wesker though.

You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.Okay, I think I know who Chris Redfield is (from the latest RE, right?), but who's Captain MacMillan?

I think it's some character from one of those war games... Call Of Duty, Medal Of Honor, etc.
My question is answered! Axel is not Axel. I am most disappointed, GameFAQs.
So, all I know about this Ellis character is that they appear to be male.
Are you familiar with the Scout from Team Fortress 2?

WHO IS THIS LOSERHow considerate!
Missingno beat Crono. I'm going to assume the fallout is epic, but I don't really want to brave the boards.
Contest saved! Upgraded to "mildly amusing." I doubt Missingno. stands a chance against Sephiroth, but one can always hope.
That's what he gets for messing with a glitch, I suppose.
Too bad Batman's isn't allowed in these battles... but then again, I suppose you have to give the other contestants an opportunity to win, eh?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I cruised the Game FA Qs Poll Of The Day board. Mostly there's just one individual screaming bloody murder over Missingno's victory. Everyone else is applauding.
What's interesting is how this destroys the Noble Nine. To wit, a group of characters that, until Missingno's victory, have never lost to any non-Noble Nine character one-on-one.
Missingno vs. L-Block for the 2010 contest!
Don't take life too seriously. It's only a temporary situation.I generally find these pretty uninteresting, and it's not just because I haven't heard of half the characters on the list. It's one thing to have a big, dumb popularity contest, but it's another to have the same big, dumb popularity contest every time. If they're going to keep doing this, I think they should start instituting arbitrary rules on what characters qualify. Like say, no characters who don't speak, or only characters who don't speak, or no characters from games that are or have sequels/spinoffs, or no protagonists.
In fact, to hell with their contest. I say we start our own big, dumb popularity contest on tvtropes. With blackjack! And hookers!. In fact, forget the contest and the blackjack.
Ah, screw the whole thing.
I tried getting a Trope Battle contest up and running but no one seemed interested.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person. The only good part of Game FA Qs these days are the actual FA Qs.
But jeez, how can Game FA Qs think a matchup between a badass and funny frenchie from an FPS that isn't well known outside of the internet and an alright character that's worshiped by thousands of 12 year olds across the nation could possibly be fair? It's entirely unbalanced.
Don't even get me started on the Heavy Weapons Guy losing to what is essentially an angsty Disney character.
(And so can you!)Actually, I was referring to us having a video game character popularity contest, like their's. But battling the actual tropes works too.

I absolutely hate these Character Battles. As everyone already knows and pointed out, Game FA Qs is a collecting ground for Nintendo and Square fanboys, and as such, only Nintendo and Square characters get votes.
I honestly want the guys at Game FA Qs to change the characters around for once. Don't include ANY characters from a Nintendo or Final Fantasy game, and then let's see who wins. I'm really interested in what these people would choose if none of their "usual" picks are present.
On a side note, I made an entire journal on Deviant Art ranting about how Heavy lost to Roxas. Blah.
It's not supposed to be balanced. They've never pretended it's anything but a popularity contest.
They would lose interest and not vote, or just go with who looks cooler.
I like to fête obscure characters as much as anyone, but a popularity contest is a poor way to give them the spotlight. Better would be an article about an interesting character each week, similar to the way Game FA Qs does its top 10.
Sadly, I don't trust Game FA Qs writers to produce anything worth reading.
It Just Bugs MeYeah, popularity contest, but still, be fair, they're not Squenix fans, but Cloud fans. (Ugh, I thought they existed only on the internet until I met one in real life who never played any final fantasy games except maybe seven and was all "Everyone else sucks" I don't care if you mourn for Roy if you won't give the others a shot)
Note: The number of Squenix characters who got past round 2. (Only one who did that I'm willing to vote for is Vivi.)
I agree, rules should be changed... somehow... (Even if I'll still vote for Ike next round despite beating Monkey Boy just because he's going against Mario)
Current matchup is Pikachu versus Commander Shepherd.
If only this were an actual event instead of a voting contest. ;_;
