3rd Day 18:30

Shiki: Wow, somehow we are all still alive. Yeah.

Lilim: You don't sound very excited master.

Shiki: No, I'm happy. Really happy. I'm just too tired to use exclamation points.

Nalagiri: Hoho, you have me to thank for your survival!! Thanks to the Double Team racial skill that has been passed down through the Kishin clan for generations, you were able to triumph over Beldr and survive!!

Lilim: Wha? Generations? The master fused you half an hour ago idiot!!

Nalagiri: Hoho, it matters not! The Kishin family line runs strong, so even new members can inherit and hone the skills!

Silky: So how do you have generations if demons always get fused together and stuff?

Nalagiri: Hoho, let me bring up this family chart detailing the long and glorious history of the Kishin clan!

Silky: Does it have pretty colors?

Nalagiri: Yes!! Every color has been selected to have the utmost symbolism and relevance to the type of familial relation!!!

Lilim: Master, are you just going to let them go on like that? It's kinda silly.

Shiki: I don't care. I just have to keep closing this family tree window so it doesn't pop up and bore us to death.

Lilim: You did great master! Besides Atsuro and Keisuke are fine, they just had to retreat and protect their COM Ps

Shiki: Right, I know. That was a hard fight for everyone, what with all the demons getting between us and Beldr. I actually think they did more work than I did.

Lilim: Wha?

Shiki: All I had to do was run up and hit Beldr with the Devil's Fuge. They had to keep hordes of his flunkies back so I could focus on beating an immortal demon to death with a cellphone strap.

Nalagiri: Truly master, victory with such an improbable weapon-

Lilim: What are you stupid?! It was the only weapon that would work!

Nalagiri: -is enough to make you an honorary acquaintance of the Kishin clan!

Shiki: Right. Yeah it's funny I was holding onto the mistletoe piece so hard it left an imprint in my hand. It's still there you know. But yeah, Lilim the most work did go to the others. Atsuro and Keisuke kept fighting and summoning new demons until their COM Ps' harmonizer's threatened to shut down before running off and Yuzu stayed behind to heal me even though she wanted to run away.

...I'm soo tired right now. But that thing I got from Beldr is probably what's keeping me awake right now.

Lilim: You mean that skill you cracked, the mana surge? Master just keeps getting better and better at magic.

Shiki: No, not that. After the fight I felt this bit of energy flow into me from Beldr along with the mana surge skill. I don't know how to describe it, but it feels important.

Lilim: You should go see that guy who told you about the Devil's Fuge in the first place. Maybe he knows what it was.

Shiki: Lilim, stop trying to act smart. Atsuro and Yuzu already suggested that. I'm walking over to Shinjuku to do exactly that.

Lilim: Uh, uh... oh erm...sad

Shiki: Relax. I'll tell you what he said in a little bit.

So you got through the mooks by having a bunch of demons in storage and just outlasting them? Nice.

Also, if you type [=COMPs=] instead of COMPs, it won't turn into a wiki word.

3rd Day 20:00

Shiki: Wow I feel tired. I think I'm going to jot things down and read email before I go to sleep.

Lilim: If you are going to sleep why do things that will keep you awake?

Shiki: Because sleeping on the ground is really uncomfortable(maybe we should start sneaking into houses at night. At least those would have beds) and I need to do something to distract myself.

Lilim: Humans are weird.

Shiki: So are demons. We managed to track down that guy who told us about Beldr and he explained what is going on. Apparently a bunch of powerful demons born into a special clan or something called Bel are fighting to take control of the Tower of Bel.

Lilim: What is so strange about demons fighting? Humans do it all the time.

Shiki: But why couldn't they do it back in their home? Why come here now and make everything go to hell? We still only have hints of what is going on.

Lilim: At least we know who we have to kill to get this all to stop. The rest of the Bels. We killed Beldr so we just have to take care of Belial, Jezebel, Belzaboul and Belberith.

Shiki: But this worries me. Something is supposed to happen on Saturday with Belial. Probably him killing us in someway since our Deatclocks only went up to 3 instead of 4 like everybody else. And this whole Bel thing...

Lilim: What about it?

Shiki: Well I'm apparently in the running now since I killed Beldr. So if the other demons find out(do the other Bels sense each other like when Beldr said he smelled another nearby? Can they track us nnow? Gah I'm picking up Atsuro's paranoia powers!) will they come after us? Fuck.

Lilim: Aw, you're so cute when you're worried master!waii

Shiki: Right. So let's check emails now! First off Atsuro's...

Lilim: What's it about?

Shiki: He is talking about finding a way to control demons instead of killing you all.

Lilim: Oh. And what do you think master?

Shiki: He has a point if demons are brought under control they are really useful. I'll tell him to look into it more. Plus some of you can be pretty nice to be around...

Lilim: Like me master?wink

Shiki: I guess... I don't know how much of it is you teasing me, how much of it is from the contract and how much of it is you honestly being nice.

Lilim:...

Shiki: You're not sure either are you?

Lilim: ... what other emails did you get?

Shiki: Yuzu sent me one titled "Go me". It's nice to know that she isn't scared all the time and feels safe every once in awhile. Then again that's because of me and Atsuro...

Lilim: Ah so she thinks Keisuke is wonky too?

Shiki: She didn't say anything about him actually. I don't think she notices him much. She did seem a bit worried about me though. Something about how she was worried I was going to leave them. Yeah right.

Lilim: Is that why you are letting her cuddle you?

Shiki: Uhm err... yeah. Plus it is cold out. I'll tell her I'm not going to leave anybody so she can read that when she wakes up.

Lilim: Hey there is an email from the neebish one!

Shiki: Who? Oh you mean Keisuke. -*reads* Huh, I know he is worried about Midori but the way he phrased it is weird.

Lilim: What is he being totally stalker creepy?

Shiki: No, he is blaming the COMP for the danger rather than Midori being dumb. And he is worried about what people think of Tamers, thinking people will blame us for the demons.

Lilim: Well they have been. People are stupid master.

Shiki: Yeah yeah. Doesn't mean I can just forget them. I'll tel him we will do what we can. He there is one from Midori!

Lilim: Did she get a brain and decide to listen to you master?

Shiki: Not really. She asked why we keep trying to stop her from helping people. She doesn't care if she dies trying she just wants to help people.

Lilim: How is this any different from you master?

Shiki: Because I want to get out of here alive! Being nice and helping people doesn't mean being an idiot. I'm going to ask her to join up with us and find her tomorrow.

Lilim: Check out Kaido's email master!

Shiki: Huh, so he contracted that Pazuzu guy. I guess that is good for him since he will be able to kill more demons better. But Pazuzu bothers me. He was offering something for nothing. There has to be a catch.

Lilim: He also mentioned something about using Pazuzu to take over and you joining him.

Shiki: Yeah. I'll tell him I'll think about it. Maybe I can convince Kaido to join us so he can tear down the lockdown for Mari and the rest of his gang.

Lilim: Oh and Honda too!

Shiki: Oh right those two are apparently friends. Weird. Oh he sent me an email too.

Lilim: What's it say?

Shiki: I thought you were reading them.

Lilim: Only some of them.tongue

Shiki: Right. Mostly just a recap and that he wants to get out of here. I'll tell him I'm working on it.

Oh hey Amane sent me an email. Heh, she called me Hayate.

Lilim: Why? Isn't your name Shiki?

Shiki; Not really. My parents named me Hayate, but when I was little Naoya would always call me Shiki. The nickname got stuck and everyone just started calling me Shiki too.

Lilim: Bleh, I like Shiki better master. It sounds cuter.waii

Shiki: So even my magically loyal demons think of me as Shiki huh? Well Amane thanks for telling me that angels know what is going on too and that I am stuck in the Bel Brawl. Blah blah destiny. I'm doing this because I want to help people not serve some higher power!

Gah, that sounds really harsh. I'll tell Amane I'll do what I can-

Lilim: That has been your most popular email tonight master.

Shiki: -and stuff. I wonder if the Shomonaki could help us out? Maybe I could contract some stronger angels like Angel and Power on the COMP.

Lilim: Huh, what's that noise?

Shiki: Noise? Oh you mean Yuzu. She is humming a song in her sleep. Probably one of Haru's...

Lilim: Fangirl much?

Shiki: Yeah. But it is nice to listen too... I'm having trouble keeping my eyes open. Night Lilim. Night all the Demons in the COMP.

Lilim: Night master.

Well that is it for day 3. The liveblog will pick up tomorrow on day 4. Any suggestions or comments about it so far?

And so ends the third day. Of course, since this is an Atlus game, there's no doubt that things are going to get even harder.

My recommendations? When it comes to narration, you're doing okay; while just retelling the events that have happened might be boring, you manage to spice things up with comments from the demons. But, again, I'm curious as to what the rest of your party thinks of current events...well, maybe not Yuzu, but hearing how Paranoid Boy and Mr. Justice interpret things could be nice.

And when it comes to the game? Make sure that you have a monster that can Switch, a monster that has Devil Speed, and a monster that has Flight/Phantasma. There's a lot more annoying 'beat the devil summoners before they escape, but save them from other demons after breaking their gear' missions in the near future. Also, if not already, you can soon crack the Recarm skill that revives humans/demons in your party. Another good tip? Create 'suspend' data (these aren't temporary, I assure you), cast Petra Eyes, and reload if it misses. It's an effective way to beat up some tough demons.

#31: Oct 16th 2009 at 9:17:09 AM

How do I create suspend data again? Yeah this could probably be checked by me just reading the guidebook, but it might be some sort of DS exploit like abusing the clock system in other games.

EndarkCuli Since: Jan, 2001
#32: Oct 16th 2009 at 9:28:19 AM

During the set-up for a battle (or the battle itself), press the X button. Suspend will be the first option, followed by Victory Conditions, Configuration, and then Retreat (in Free Battles only; it costs nothing, and it's helpful if there's no good skills to be cracked). If that sounds too simple to be real...well, it took me until midway through Day 3 to find this out.

EDIT: Did I say X? I meant to say START.

Gotta go to work but a quick comment about adding commentary from the other characters. The reason I haven't done so is mostly because this is a Mega Ten game. I know at some point the characters will surprise me(like Keisuke did at the start of day 4, but then again he did act a little weird from the start). I don't want to add any characterization that will run counter to events in the game. I stick with Shiki and the demons because they are blank slates that I can add any personality too.

Okay, I suppose I could try to work on the others' perspectives and try to segue things with their canon actions.

4th day 9:00

Shiki: Grargle, rrg sfai!

Lilim: Master?

Shiki: Why? Why did things have to get worse!?

Lilim: Probably demons master.

Shiki: You know what I mean. So right, I wake up and start off knowing that my death-clock has been slightly extended. Good news, and oh god my standards are slipping.

Lilim: Hwah? Standards master?

Shiki: Like what constitutes a good day and what doesn't. It used to be pretty strict. Like no school or other appointments to take care of. Now knowing I have more than a few hours to live is all it takes to make me happy.

Lilim: Oh. I'm just happy following you master.

Shiki: I'm rolling my eyes at you. So right the day starts off fairly normal, Atsuro is talking about his idea to hack the server and put an end to this whole mess.

Lilim: And get rid of all the demons?

Shiki: Either that or put them under our control. We figured that we would have to talk to the Shomonaki or Naoya to get info about the server. But before we can actually formulate a plan to deal with the mess, we get the Laplace Mail of the day... it was weird.

Lilim: Stop using that word!

Shiki: Huh, what word?

Lilim: Weird dummy. You use it to describe everything that happens to us!

Shiki: ... fine the Laplace was strange. The characters were messed up at parts, but otherwise it was fairly readable. The thing was mostly bad news. Everything will continue to go to hell as people start committing suicide and tensions against demon tamers rise.

Mahakla: The weak envy our power and hate us! You should not pay them heed master!

Shiki: Or they are scared because we are summoning demons with computers and we should help them because it is the right thing to do.

Lilim: Now now, fight nice kids.tongue

Shiki: Well those are both big problems that are link to two smaller problems. At 11 Midori is going to get killed by a mob and at 17 Haru(I think it is Haru) will commit suicide by provoking the cops to shot them.

Lilim: So what is the problem master? You have changed things for people before?

Shiki: Yeah, but the demons are getting stronger and we are down one member.

Silky: So you are at three now! Oh wait, are you counting demons too? Nuuu...

Shiki: No, when Keisuke noticed that humans were going to kill Midori he stormed off to be Vigilante Man, promising to kill all the "bastards" before we could stop him. Lovely.

Lilim: At least the demons you loaned him are still in the system.

Jack Frost: Sniff... He left me behind!

Shiki: Huh?

Lilim: Wha?

Jack Forst: Heehoo, I'm Jack Frost-

Lilim: We know. We've killed a ton of demons like you.

Jack Frost: And I was on Keisuke's COMP before he joined you. Hee left me behind saying he needed stronger demons.

Shiki: So my COMP just picked you up? Whatever. We have to go save Midori and Haru whilst figuring out where the server is located.

Gah sorry for the long intermission. I'm catching up again thanks to the notes I left for the fourth day.

4th day 9:30

Shiki: Grah!

Lilim: It's okay master.

Shiki: No, no it isn't. Why won't Midori actually listen to me for once?

Lilim: Well she is helping people like she said she wanted to.

Shiki: Helping people is fine. Doing it in a way that makes it look like she is summoning the demons in the first place, bad.

Jack Frost: Hee-ho, whoo are you talking about?

Shiki: Oh right, you've been stuck inside Keisuke's COMP.

Lilim: That makes his question confusing. You think Keisuke would have written something down about her.

Shiki: Maybe he didn't find the diary function. Or maybe Jack Frost isn't a snoop like you.

Jack Forst: I can read through his diary? Whoo-hoo! Where is it?!

Lilim: Right this way. ^-^

Shiki: Sigh. Nobody listens to me.

Nalagiri: If it may please the master, I shall assist you by telling you of the Kishin clan's Ultimate Persuasion Technique!!

Shiki: Uh, okay how does it work?

Nalagiri: Well first tell me the problem. I was busy flexing my glorious trunk before I heard your distress master.

Shiki: Right. So Midori is this girl we met on the second day, who managed to get a COMP. Instead of trying to survive she decided to go out and become a hero-

Nalagiri: An admirable choice.

Shiki: But the problem is she is doing a bad job.

Nalagiri: She is still alive right master?!

Shiki: Yeah, but the way she is helping people is that it makes her look like the one summoning demons. If she keeps doing things like this people will actively hate us and they will kill her like the Laplace mail said. We keep trying to tell her to stop but she doesn't listen.

Hrm, let me confide in you the Ultimate Persuasion Technique then master. When her life is in danger, come in and save her the gratitude from you saving her life will force her to listen.

Shiki: That seems really cold dude. I want to keep her from getting in a situation where she is threatened in the first place.

Nalagiri: Whatever happens, happens master. Call on me if you need me again.

Shiki: Right. Well either way I have to find her again.

4th day 10:00

Shiki: The more I think about it, the less I really know about the Shomonaki. This is starting to bug me.

Lilim: What about hearing that whole speech from Amane in the park just now?

Shiki: All that did was make me even more confused. The Shomonaki, Amane in particular, are telling us that the whole lockdown is God's Ordeal-

Jack Frost: Note the capital letters! That's how you know it's important hee-ho!

Shiki: It's God's Ordeal for people using tech advancement to get around the whole Tower of Babel rule.

Lilim: Where is this tower?

Shiki: I dunno. It probably doesn't even exist.

Lilim: Well what is it then?

Shiki: Lilim, you're a demon. Don't you know about old myths and stuff?

Lilim: If I knew I wouldn't ask you about it! Geez master, you can be dumb sometimes.

Shiki: Right. So Naoya told me about it when he helped me with my homework one time. A long time ago everybody spoke the same language right? So for laughs or something they decided to build a tower to go up and meet God. The problem was that God didn't want them to see him or something so he had to find a way to get them to stop. So he made it so everybody would start speaking different languages. Apparently it became such a problem to work together that people split up based on language and left the project alone.

Lilim: Wow, humans can be really lazy sometimes.

Shiki: Huh?

Lilim: Well they were working on a big project to meet god right? Would it be that hard to keep referring to the plans until they figured each other out.

Jack Frost: Hee-hoo demons do it all the time! Well when we-hee aren't trying to eat each other!

Shiki: Right, so back to the Shomonaki they claim that tech advancement allowed us to get past the Tower of Babel problem, so God sent an Ordeal to test humanity. You see the logic problem here right?

Jack Frost: Hee-hoo... no.

Lilim: The Shomonaki are saying tech advancement caused this mess, but they are the ones who designed the COMPs in the first place. So this whole thing is partially their fault.

Shiki: Yeah, Yuzu and Atsuro called them on it too. But Amane said something weird-

Lilim: You keep using that word master.tongue

Shiki: Whatever. So she tells me that the COMPs and the lockdown are all a test to see how people use the power, and that the COMPs are just tools. Like I care.

Lilim: You're mad that she brushed off questions about the server, telling you it is hidden away?

Shiki: No I'm mad that they are acting like they are helping everybody work through this mess, when they helped cause it in the first place. Gah, this isn't helping! Alright, I'm going to save Midori and Haru. I'll think off something after that.

Shiki: Okay great. Nobody else is here with me?

Negative.

Shiki:Oh... uh, okay what about the demons inside the COMP?

Demons and macca were ejected to free up processing power.

Shiki: Oh... heh, I can't even hear Lilly fret or flit even when she shouldn't.

Shiki:...

Shiki: Alright, about this person on the moon?

Human presence is an integral component in a high level Seal System based on Tarot Symbology.

Shiki: This means what exactly?

The COMP is not designed to interface with this system. Projections of interfacing with the system are universally negative.

Shiki: So I can't do anything?

Correct

Shiki: Well that sucks... Hey I can see him now! Ah poor guy, he's just a high school student like me. Hey he kinda looks like me. He even has a pair of headphones and blue hair too. Okay this is creepy...

The boy in the wall was surprised. He hadn't expected to see anybody ever again after becoming the seal. He wanted to shout out and say something. He missed talking to people. He missed the people he cared about.

That wasn't the point though. He was sure of it. Still he wanted to help this stranger. He had no voice, since a seal doesn't need to speak. He couldn't move from his spot; a wandering seal would be pointless. But he could move enough to point out towards a possible solution.

The other boy noticed that he moved. After the surprise of seeing him move, the other boy turned to see where he was pointing. The other one looked confused, so the boy in the wall nodded in a way he thought was reassuring.

Hesitantly the other boy glanced down at the device in his hands and went over there. As the other boy entered the blue door, Minato smiled before turning back to Nyx.

It wasn't what I was expecting. I'm not sure what I expected but I was hoping the afterlife would be more than a lookalike of me and a blue elevator.

Have I mentioned it was blue? Seriously everything in there was blue, even the void outside it was falling through. Inside the place was fairly simple I guess. Just a desk with two chairs in front of it.

Behind the desk was a creepy looking guy. Hunched over, bald head, sunken eyes and a freaking huge nose. Like it looks like a crows beak or something. There were two blond girls behind him, dressed in blue(of course!), one with long hair and the other with short hair.

Steeping his fingers the man smiled and waved his over his desk. "Allow me to introduce myself, I am Igor Proprietor of the Velvet Room. Behind me are my two assistants Elizabeth and Margaret."

"So where am I and what is going on here?" I asked looking around.

Igor tsked and waved his finger. "Please have patience for a moment. Once my other guests arrive our work can begin."

Other guests? Right after he said that I heard the door open.

"Hey little brother. Seems things didn't quite go as planned eh?" smirked Naoya. Seeing him was surprising but what was even more surprising was hearing the person behind him ask, " Master?"

Right, so you are probably asking your selves just wtf happened here right? In short I wrote myself a way to reboot the liveblog since I couldn't remember where I left off. I used another Mega Ten work for the framing because, well I felt like it. I'm starting a new game instead continuing the old one, so I felt like I new start was in order.

More to hopefully come.
