Takara will have their work cut out of them. With the recent explosion of their masterwork's prices, a few recent duds plagued with QA issue, and most of the G1 combiners already done in masterpiece-ish scale by 3p companies for a few years now, it'll be rough.
And that's without going into how Takara's recent art direction for the masterpieces among fans has been divisive.
Like, Takara charges 400 to 500 for the likes of their new Optimus. I don't wanna know what they'd price a combiner as.
Like are you gonna drop 1500 for a combiner and one of the member has the build quality of like, MP hound? Or paint rubbing off like V2 Optimus and Megatron?

I own Ocular Max's take on Bruticus and while there are some glaring flaws (too many folding in pieces, limbs bump into kibble, exposed interiors) but the final product, being a combiner with all of its pieces contained within itself, is amazing. Even as their own entities, each figure was well worth my money ($1K Canadian for all 5).
Keith's Fantasy Club's take on Victory Leo couldn't stand on its own feet. Despite having not watched Victory, I really enjoy my Masterpiece Star Saber even though I mainly bought it for this third party combining feature.

Ocular Max Bruticus is so good. It's such a fun figure.
, Noted. Mastermind Creations has put out some great stuff. I really like my Commotus/Turmoil and Oberon/Obsidian. Really wish they'd re-release Strika/Titanika
Aside from the trope named after him, what other tropes do you think Starscream is a poster boy for?

You forgot to mention Dirty Coward.
Their recent Optimus figure is FANTASTIC. So poseable.
Victory Leo reached its first stretch goal so we get the big cannon with it. IDK if it will reach the others but I'm glad it got at least one.
Shouki's not impressing me.
Some REALLY awful kibble (He looks bad from the sides). The very hollow feet. The flat grey inner body. You'd have told me this is a CHUG I'd believe it
And he's 177$. Fuck.

Yeah. Very kibble-y busy design. And like you said, buying 6 of them is a gamble if one of them starts having QC problems that pop up with certain master grades.
Also: Do a Deathsaurus now Has Tak. Really want that guy.

Deathsaurus would be amazing
Someone pointed out that this picture of Shouki makes no sense because theres no seam or pannel lines in the "closed up" trainmode that match the "opened cockpit".
I see seams on the nose of the train. They're super fine and I had to zoom in quite a bit, but there is a slight shadow there. (zoom) The hinges appear cantilevered, so it looks like the entire side of the cockpit is one panel.

So, leak of Cybertron Metroplex as part of the (alleged) upcoming Transformers Legacy line. This one is to be the Titan figure. Bit of a blurry pic, but he looks alright. His arms are much longer than the OG, figure it'd be a better figure. I really want the Cybertron Menasor though, I liked that design a lot better.
That doesn't match where the seam should be though, at least to my eye. And furthermore the cow pusher / blue part beneath looks different?
Could just be different prototypes in the two pictures. I will say looking at the robot mode you do see the open cockpit as part of that ginormous awful backpack
More concerning is looking at the other pictures and how much of Shouki's body seems to be painted clear pastic (in the legs and feet, possibly backpack), which is BAD news for his durability, doubly so with Takara MP having chronic paint rub issues.
Cybertron Metroplex is an awful design. Like outside of the wheel bucket you'd never know what he turns into, and he looks nothing like those giant excavator. This one seems to keep the legacy of the old Titan Metroplex' own shitty alt modes of "Metroplex sitting down" and "Metroplex sitting down but with his legs closed" by adding "Metroplex on his back, clutching his weapon between his legs".
Id hate hastak using this guy underperforming to go "Well no more Unicron trilogy figures" when they picked a mediocre one on purpose.
Like if they wanted Unicron trilogy big boys tidal wave and omega supreme are legit cooler designs.

Oh yeah, I'd love a Tidal Wave Titan. I also wouldn't be against them taking another crack at G1 Metroplex. I never picked him up because he came out when I didn't have disposable income, and he's in sore need of an update because there's just so many failings in the old design.
Shouki video. He's definitely missing panel lines in some shot.
Large chunks of preorders added to Victory Saber, putting it past the stand reward tier.
Final stretch goal is 20,000 and it seems likely it's making that.
Oh man I'd love that. When would we get charged? On the day or would it take a week or so to process it? I didn't back any other of these crowdfundings on Hasbro Pulse
You literally clicked on it when you accepted the terms :-P October 11th, when crowdfunding ends.
Ah, yeah forgot about that. Dope.
I like Victory Saber.
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”Annnnnnd...backed! I'm an official backer for the Haslab Victory Saber project!
Let's say go!
MP Combiners would be cool. I'd love a Dinoking or Monstructor
Man those Star Saber pictures are looking better and better. Base mode's bad but the shield is so cool.
